<br /> They must also secure and file with the City Clerk a policy of liability insurance
<br />issued by a company authorized to do business in the State. This policy is to indemnify
<br />such person or organization in the sum of at least $100,000 for injury to one person and
<br />$$00,000 for injury to more than one person for the same accident for which the owner, operat
<br />or driver of such vehicle may be held liable and $5,000 for property damage.~

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961,
<br />BY ADDING SECTIONS 18-332.1 AND 18-332.2 THERETO PERTAINING TO HEALTH CARDS
<br />AND LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR ICE CREAM VENDORS."

<br /> 72-283 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed on first reading.
<br />This amends Ordinance No. 1972-8 which was adopted in January, 1972.
<br />
<br /> . The ordinance adopted in January provided $85,000 for the purchase of two fire engines.
<br />$5,000 of these funds should have been earmarked for a Federal grant application pertaining
<br />to a study concerning crime in and around residences. The new ordinance reduces the appropri
<br />ation for the fire engines by $5,000 and applies it to the Federal grant application. This
<br />error has been discovered by the auditors and they have requested this amendment to be made."

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND NO. 1972-8 TO APPROPRIATE FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL
<br />IMPROVEMENT FUND $80,000.00 FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO NEW FIRE ENGINES, AND
<br />$S,000.00 TO FUND A CRIMINAL ENFORCEMENT STUDY CONCERNING CRIME IN AND
<br />AROUND RESIDENCES."

<br />This closes a portion of Scott Street between Amelia and Powhatan Avenues.

<br />the Planning Commission. A report of the viewers is attached hereto.~

<br /> 72-28S "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed on first reading.
<br />This appropriates $12,570 for a summer recreation support program.
<br />
<br /> These are 100% Federal funds made available to the City to provide programs over and
<br />above our current programs for underprivileged children. It will provide additional recrea%~
<br />tion equipment, lunches, field trips to historical, places, zoo and athletic events. There
<br />is also being offered a program of athletic games and sports at several locations where
<br />field trips have not been scheduled.
<br />
<br /> It is estimated that approximately 2,500 underprivileged youths between the ages of
<br />eight and thirteen years will benefit from this program."
