72-548 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed on first reading. <br />This ordinance establishes the schedule of fees and hours of operation for Sleepy Hole <br />Park. <br /> <br />The hours of operation unless otherwise authorized will be: <br /> <br />(1) March:~t!i~hr~ugh November 15 - 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. <br />(2) November 16 through February 28 - 9:00 a.m. to S:00 p.m. <br />(3) Park to be closed December 25 and January 1. <br /> <br />The fees established by this ordinance are as follows: <br />(1) Boat Rental- March 1 through November 15 <br /> <br />(A) Yak-Yak - $1.25 per hour <br />(B) Water Bikes $1.00 per half hour <br /> <br />(2) Camp Sites - March 1 through November 1S <br /> <br />(A) Improved sites (water and electrical hookups) - $5.50 per day <br />(B) Sites with water only - $2.00 per day~ <br /> <br />Daily Camp Rental - $5.50 ($2.00 for camp site with water <br />only) based on family of eight persons or less using a <br />single camp site. Any additional camp unit exceeding <br />30 square feet must be erected on a separate site. <br /> <br />These fees have been approved by the Recreation Commission." <br /> <br /> On motion of.Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Johnson, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE OF HOURS'OF OPERATION AND FEES FOR <br />USE OF FACILITIES AT THE SLEEPY HOLE PARK." <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Holley, Johnson, King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 72-349 - 'I submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed on first reading. <br />This appropriates $29,121 in Federal funds for Community-Based Correctional Programs and <br />Services for Adults. <br /> <br /> This program will allow inmates of the jail to hold jobs while serving jail terms. <br />The specific design of the Work Release Program is to enable prisoners to work off fines <br />imposed by courts, pay court-ordered support, and receive instruction in various trades. <br /> <br /> The City Sheriff's staff will direct the program with assistance from the Hustings <br />and Municipal Courts." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Smith and seconded by M'r. Johnson, the following ordinance was <br />approved on first readiRg, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $29,121.00 FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND :TO FUND COB~UNITY BASED CORRECTIONAL PROGP~S AND <br />SERVICES FOR ADULT PRISONERS~ PAROLEES AND PROBATIONERS IN THE CITY <br />OF PORTSMOUTH." <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Holley, Johnson, King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 72,550 - "I submit the attached resolution and recommend its adoption. This appoints <br />viewers for the closing of a portion of a 10-ft alley located between Evergreen Place <br />an~ Roanoke Avenue. <br /> <br /> Closing of this alley has been requested by several persons owning property adjacent <br />thereto. This closing has been recommended by the Planning Commission." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Smith~ the following resolution was adopted, <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF A TEN FOOT ALLEY <br /> LOCATED BETWEEN EVERGREEN PLACE AND ROANOKE AVEN~E. <br /> W~EREAS, James C. Faust, Morton R. Williford, P~rvis H. Richardson, Regis Parker, 1 <br />Sr,, Cora L. Goodman, Gracie L. Williams, Miriam Jackson, Thomas Broom, William Wright, <br />Dennis Lawrence, and Milton Copeland have made application to vacate and close the hereinafter <br />described portion of a certain alley and it appearing that notice of the application and <br />request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted on July 28, 1972, on the bulletin <br />board of the Court of Hustings for the City of Portsmouth, on the bulletin board of the <br />Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, and on the bulletin board of the Municipal Court, <br />Civil Division, of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> <br />
