<br /> On motion of Mr. Smith and seconded by Mr. Johnson, the following resolution was

<br /> 'A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF A TWENTY FOOT ALLEY
<br /> LOCATED BETWEEN GREENWOOD DRIVE AND BARCLAY AVENUE.

<br /> ~EREAS, Geraldine Harris, H. E. Wheatley and Margaret Wheatley have made application
<br />to vacate and close the hereinafter described portion o£ a certainalley and it appearing
<br />that notice of the application and request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted
<br />on October 10, 1972, on the bulletin board of the Court of Hustings for the City of Ports-
<br />mouth, on the bulletin board of the Circuit Court o£ the City of Portsmouth, and on the
<br />bulletin board of the Municipal Court, Civil Division of the City of Portsmouth.

<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that Frank N. Bilisoly, Louis J. Leitner, L. A. Clark, Zalmon I. Blachman and F. J. Bergeron
<br />be appointed viewers to view the hereinafter described portion of such alley and report
<br />to this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience
<br />would result from vacating and closing the following:

<br /> That certain alley, twenty (20) feet in width, situate in the City
<br /> Portsmouth, Virginia, designated as a portion of Fifth Street, lying
<br /> tween Lot 2, Block J, as shown on the plat of Garden Homes, recorded in
<br /> the Clerk*s Office o£ the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, £or-
<br /> merly Norfolk County~ Virginia in Map Book 21, pages 58 and 59, and Lot
<br /> 14, Block H, of said Garden Homes, extending from the south line of
<br /> Greenwood Drive southward to the north line of Barclay (formerly Rose)
<br /> Avenue, a distance of two hundred seventeen (217) feet."

<br />and close the hereinafter described portion of a certain street and it appearing that notice
<br />of the application and request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted on October
<br />10, 1972, on the bulletin board o£ the Court o£ Hustings for the City of Portsmouth, on
<br />the bulletin board o~ the Circuit Court o£ the City of Portsmouth, and on the bulletin board
<br />of the Municipal Court, Civil Division of the City of Portsmouth.
