<br />This appropriates $242,000 from the Capital Improvement fund for the renovation
<br />of City owned property at the Southwest corner of Dinwiddie and King Streets.
<br />
<br /> Upon completion, this building is to be used by the Department of Social Services
<br />to house their staff responsible for income maintenance programs. These operations are
<br />now conducted in the old Court Clerk's building on High Street and in the Colony Theatre
<br />building. Reimbursement for renovations, furnishings, maintenance, utilities, and useful
<br />life of building, will be made to the City in monthly rental charges paid by the Department
<br />and Welfare and Institutions, Commonwealth of Virginia.

<br />a Regional Recreation Authority pursuane to the Public Recreational Facilities Authorities
<br />Act and providing for a public hearing thereon.
<br />
<br /> It is necessary that Council adopt this resolution in order for the City to join
<br />in a Recreation Authority with other political subdivisions in Planning District 20.
<br />It is also necessary that Council hold a public hearing upon the question of whether to
<br />adopt a resolution creating a regional agency to preserve open space land and provide
<br />recreational facilities. This public hearing has been scheduled for March 13, 1973."

<br /> AUTHORITIES ACT AND PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON.

<br /> WHEREAS, it has been proposed that the political subdivisions in Planning District-
<br />20 create a regional agency pursuant to the Public Recreational Facilities Authorities
<br />Act to preserve open space land and provide recreational facilities; and
<br />
<br /> ~dEREAS, this body presently intends to adopt a resolution creating such an agency;
<br />and
