(6) Each participating political subdivision shall be entitled to one commissioner.
<br />The commissioner £rom each partic£pating political subdivision shall be appointed by his
<br />respective governing body for a term of three years commencing upon the date of expiration
<br />of the term of his predecessor, except thatany vacancy occurring during a term shall be
<br />filled for the unexpired portion of the term by the appropriate governing body.

<br />The follo~ing reports from the City ~anager were read:

<br /> 73-82 - 'I su~it the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed on first reading.
<br />This appropriates $10,000 for renovations to the Camden Avenue pumping station.
<br />
<br /> Because of the age of this station-(constructed in 1947), it has not been operating
<br />to the required capacity. The increased pumping head due to additional flows in the system
<br />resulting from infiltration into the collector systems and additional connections have
<br />created the problem.
<br />
<br /> These funds will be used for the. replacement of impellers and motors to provide for
<br />pumping at the design"capacity againstincreased head conditions. There will also be some
<br />minor renovations to the building. This'.project is included in the City's five-year Capital
<br />Program."

<br /> On motion of Mr. King andseconded by Mr. Smith, the following ordinance was approved
<br />on first reading, and by-the £ellowing rote:

<br /> 73-83 - "I submit the attached two resolutions authorizing the sale of City-o~ned
<br />surplus ,property and recommend their adoption.

<br /> The first parcel is located at the southeast corner of Hatton and Blair Streets.
<br />This wasacquired by the City because of delinquent taxes. There is a purchaser who desires
<br />to build a residence-on the~property. Attached hereto is a-letter from the Planning Commis~
<br />sion approving this sale.
<br />
<br /> The second parcel is located in'Suffolk and Nansemond on the Lake Kilby watershed.
<br />The land is not-needed for the watershed. It has not been sold previously due to the proble!
<br />of sewage disposal. This has now been resolved and the land should be sold." See letter received from Director of Planning.
