This resolutim <br />authorizes the City Manager to execute a joint agreement with neighboring cities of Norfol] <br />Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Nansemond, Newport News, Hampton and <br />Williamsburg, for the purpose of providing an exchange of data on wanted persons, persons <br />on probation and parole, persons under surveillance, and stolen articles. <br /> <br /> Tenpin, Tidewater Electronic Network Police Information, operates off of Norfolk's <br />360/40 Computer. <br /> <br /> The agreement that this resolution addresses covers the period of January 1, 1975 <br />through June 50, 1975. ~ <br /> <br /> ~i~ile the $5,002.00, Portsmouth's share, identified in the agreement has been budgeter <br />by our Police Department, the City of Norfolk has requested an occompanying resolution <br />of aUthority." <br /> <br /> On motion'of Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Johnson, the following resolution was adopt~ <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER ~O EXECUTE A JOINT AGREE~dENT <br />WITH NEIGHBORING CITIES CONCERNING tN. TENPIN PROJECT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 15.1-21 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, allows political <br />subdivisions to enter into joint agreements; and <br /> <br /> W~ERBAS~ the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, deems it necessary to enter <br />into such an agreement for the purpose of providing an exchange of data on wanted persons. <br />persons on probation and parole, persons under surveillance, and stolen articles, and <br />further to compl~ment the Virginia Criminal Information Network (V-CIN). such project <br />to be known as the TENPIN project. <br /> <br /> <br />
