73-259 - "I submit the attached agreement between the State Highway Department and <br />the City of Portsmouth and recommend the proper City officials be authorized to sign. Th <br />covers the construction of the craw£0rd Street connector. .... <br /> <br /> Bids were opened by the Highway Department the latter part of May. The low bid <br />was $4,426,784, of which the City is responsible for $1~$75,021. The City has paid <br />$507,211.47 of its share. The balance will be due in progress payments as construction <br />progresses." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Smith, to concur in the recommendation <br />of the City Manager, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 75-260 - "It is my recommendation that I be authorized to submit to the State Depart <br />ment of Mental Hygiene and Hospitals the Portsmouth Community Mental Health and Mental <br />Retardation Services Board budget for fiscal year 1975-74. This submission is necessary <br />in accordance with Chapter 10, Title 57.1 of the Code of Virginia. It is necessary <br />that this be submitted in order that State and Federal funds will be made available <br />to the local Board. <br /> <br /> This budget calls for an expenditure of $1,515,605.54. This authori <br />the transfer of $22,012 from Non-departmental Contingency to Public Safety Ambulance <br />Service. These funds are necessary to meet our commitment under the ambulance contract <br />for services rendered to the City. We are asking for this transfer at this time in <br />order that the funds can be paid from the 1972-73 fiscal year budget." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Smith, the following resolution was <br />adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~NAGER TO TRANSFER $22,012. FROM <br /> NON-DEPARTMENTAL :FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR THE PAYMENT <br /> OF CONTRACTUAL SERVICES RENDERED BY PORTSMOUTH AMBULANCE SERVICES, IN- <br /> CORPORATED FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1971-72. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the CitY's annual appropriation ordinance allows the City Manager to <br />transfer funds from o~e department to another up to a limit of $10,000; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the transfer of funds exceeding $10,000. from one department to another <br />requires Council approval; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, contractual services rendered the City by Portsmouth Ambulance Services,, <br />Incorporated for the fiiscal year 1971-72 amount to a cost of $22,012. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, gE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth that <br />the City Manager is heireby authorized to transfer Twenty-two Thousand Twelve and_00flO0 <br />($22,012.)
