9O July 24~ 1975 All that certain piece-or parcel of land lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and comprising that portion of Griffin Street located between the eastern right of way of Fifth Street and the right of way of the Seaboard Coastline Railroad Company." Ayes: Holley, King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes Nays: None 73-323 - "I submit the attached resolution and recommend its adoption. This conveys ~o the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority a jib parcel of City-owned property on South Street. This is surplus property left over from the Crawford Street Connector right-of-way. It adjoins a parcel adjacent to Housing Authority property. The Authority desires to incorporate the City property in their parcel and will give the City cash credit of $1,42 for the land." On motion of Mr. ~§. and seconded by Mr. ~mi~h~ the following resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CON~BY CITYd)WNED PROPERTY TO THE PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY (SOUTH STREET JIB PARCEL). WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth desires to convey to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority a certain jib parcel which is hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, the said parcel is no longer needed by the City of Portsmouth and is surplu property; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority desires this land to be incorporated into an adjoining tract of land atready owned by>said Authority; and WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth will be compensated for this property by the awardin of, a cash credit in. the amount of Fourteen Hundred TWenty-five and~ 00/100 ($1425.00) Dollars, which credit shall be applied in partial fulfillment of the City's obligation to support the Crawford Urban Renewal Project (VA. R-55). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of.Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the hereinafter describe property to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority and toperform all acts and execute all documents incident to~s'U~*~'hg~yand'e: -~ Beginning at the northeastern right of way intersection of Middle Street and the proposed northern right of way of the ne~ Crawford Con- nector; thence N 86~36'35" E a distance of ZS.ZSS~t~oaapoint'.ef cur- 9~t~re along the proposed northern right of way line of the new Crawford Connector; thence along the proposed northern right of;way line of the new Crawford Connector being a curve to the left-having a radius of 540.00' and an arc length of 76.87' to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence along the proposed northern right of way line of the new Crawford Connector being ~ curve to the left having a radius of 540.00' and an arc length of 93.54' to a point on the southern right of way line of South Street; thence along the existing southern right of way line of South Street S 87~t0'15" W a distance of 86.33' to a point; thence S 2~49'45" E a distance of 54.12' to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING." Ayes: Holley, King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes Nays: None 73-324 "I submit the attached resolution and recommend its adoption. This authorizes the sale of City-owned property on. Carolina Avenue in Pinners Point. Private enterprise desires to construct a maintenance building to serve the marine terminal. They will need the seven City-owned lots along with their adjacent property to construct the building." On motion of Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Smith, the following resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR CERTAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTY (CAROLINA AVENUE LOTS). WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth presently owns several lots located in the Pinners ~oint area and situate on the north side of Carolina Avenue; and WHEREAS, the said lots are designated as Lots 155, 155, 157, 167, 169, 171, and 175 on the plat of the Portsmouth Water Front Land Company, which is duly recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the City of-Chesapeake (formerly Norfolk County), in Map Book 5, at page 91; and WHEREAS, the said property is further identified as Parcel 44 (Lots 167, 169, 171 and 17~) and Parcel 47 [Lots 155, 1SS, and 157) on Tax Plate 106, on file in the Office of the City assessor, Portsmouth, Virginia; and
