<br />OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA; ESTABLISHING THE S~E; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEA~
<br />OF CERTAIN ORDINANCES NOT INCLUDED THEREIN; EXCEPT AS HEREIN EXPRESSLY
<br />PROVIDED; PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF SUCH CODE AND A PENALTY FOR
<br />THE VIOLATION THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER OF AMENDING SUCH CODE;
<br />AND PROVIDING WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE."

<br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE BID OF PREN~IS
<br />PARK CONGREGATION OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, FORMERLY DOWNTOWN CONGREGATION
<br />OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, TO PURCHASE CERTAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTY (JEFFERSON
<br />STREET LOT).'

<br /> ~EREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held October
<br />9, 1973 resolved to authorize the City Manager to advertise for sale certain Cit)~owned
<br />property hereinafter described; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager has caused the said property to be advertised upon certain
<br />terms in accordance with the aforesaid resolution; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Prentis Park Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, formerly Downtown Congre-
<br />gation of Jehovah's Witnesses, has submitted a bid in response to said advertisement,
<br />such bid being the minimum bid stated and being the only bid received.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that the City Manager be and he hereby is authorized to accept the bid of Prentis Park
<br />Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, formerly Downto~ Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
<br />for the following described property.

<br /> That certain lot of land situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />and known and designated as Lot Number One (1) in block thirty-eight (38)
