Stuart Bolling Company, Inc., was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $34,300 PROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT <br />FUIND FOR TNB EXTENSION OF A GRAVITY SEWER LINE AT OR NEAR THE ALABA~ <br />AVENUE PUMP STATION." <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Holley, Johnson, King, Smith, Wentx, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 73-507 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed <br />on first reading. This appropriates $2,800 to employ an engineering firm to perform <br />engineering services for improvements to the Red Barn Lane/Blaine Street sewage facilities <br /> <br /> Due to the increased density of development in the Churchland West area as well <br />as Armistead Gardens Apartments, and the construction of the Peachtree Apartments, <br />requires that additional pumping capacity and force main capacity be made available <br />in th~ area. <br /> <br /> This problem has been reviewed by the Public Utilities Department and the Engineering <br />Department. However, since any improvements proposed will have to be approved by <br />the State Water Control Board and the State Health Department, it will be necessary <br />to have detailed plans and specifications for their review as well as substantial <br />data and information regarding basis of design, etc. <br /> <br /> In order to provide such detailed plans and specifications without creating unnecess <br />delays, I recommend that I be authorized to sign a contract with Baldwin and Gregg <br />to perform the necessary engineering services. The $2,800 will cover the preliminary <br />design phase costs." <br /> <br /> On!motion of Mr. Smith and seconded by Mr. Johnson, the following ordinance was <br />approved on first reading, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $2800.00 FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT <br /> FUND FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES CONCERNING SANITARY SEWAGE FACILITIES IN <br /> CHURCHLAND." <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Holley, Johnson, King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> ~3-508 "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend that it be placed on <br />first reading. This appropriates $637,468 in the Capital Improvement Fund for curbs, <br />gutters and drainage. <br /> <br /> The above appropriation is from the Revenue Sharing Funds from Entitlement III <br />which were earmarked for the curb, gutter and drainage program. This appropriation <br />will provide the necessary funds to do the storm drainage, curb and gutter work on <br />Pennock Street and Airline Boulevard. <br /> <br /> The above funds were previously appropriated in the Federal Revenue Sharing Trust <br />Fund in August of this year for storm drainage, curb and gutter improvements." <br /> <br /> ~ On motion of Mr. King. and seconded by Mr. Smith, the following ordinance was ap- <br />pro,ed on first reading, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $637,468 FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL .IMPROV~qENT <br />iFUND FOR.CURBS, GUTTERS AND DRAINAGE ON PENNOCK STREET AND AIRLINE BOULEVARD." <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Holley, Johnson, King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 73-509 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend that it be placed on <br />first reading. This appropriates~$388,?43 in the General Fund for transfer to the <br />Debt Service Fund for retirement of the debt. These funds were previously appropriated <br />in the Federal Revenue Sharing Trust Fund under Entitlement III. This appropriation <br />is'necessary in order that the funds may be paid from the General Fund into the Debt <br />Service Fund." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Smith and seconded by Mr. Johnson, the following ordinance was <br />approved on first reading, a~d by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINfdqCE TO/JtPPRO~R~tATE $388,743 FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR TRANSFER <br />TO THE DEBT SERVICE FUND FOR THE RETIREMENT OF DEBT." <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Holley, Johnson, King,, Smith, Wentz, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 73-510 - "I submit th~u~ach~d e~dinance and recommend that it be placed on <br />first reading. This appropriates $26,000 in the Capital Improvement Fund for the <br />instal!ati~n of traffic signals. <br /> <br /> The above will provide the funds necessary to purchase and install traffic signal <br />systems at Airline and Elmhurst Lane intersection and Victory Boulevard at Alexander <br />Street. This appropriation is in accordance with our S-year Capital Improvement Budget <br /> <br /> <br />
