The lease with Portsmouth Terminals, <br />Inc., will be modified to provide additional revenue to retire the bonds. It will, <br />therefore, require approval of the City Council. The cost of the equipment will be <br />$432,000." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Smith and seconded by Mr. Early, to concur in the recommendation of <br />the City Manager, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 74-7 "I submit the attached contract between the City of Portsmouth and the <br />Portsmouth Ambulance Service, Incorporated, providing emergency ambulance service within <br />the City of Portsmouth and request your authorization to sign -this contract. <br /> <br /> In December of 1973, the City of Portsmouth advertised and received bids for the <br />operation of emergency ambulance services in the City'of Portsmouth. Portsmouth Ambulanc <br />Service, Incorporated, was the only bidder at a cost of $125,799.16 per year to provide <br />the ambulance services specified in the oriyinal bid specifications. Since receipt <br />of this bid, we have met with the principal of Portsmouth Ambulance Service, Incorporated <br />and negotiated a contract which is a three-year contract and renewable for an additional <br />two years at the end of the original three-year period. Under the terms of the new <br />contract, the City agrees to pay $6,000 per month ($72,000 per year) during the terms <br /> <br /> <br />
