<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that the City Manager be, and he hereby is directed to accept the bid of Terminal
<br />Warehouse Corporation for the hereinafter described property.

<br /> All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate in the
<br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, comprising 0.115 acres, more or less,
<br />bounded and described as follows:

<br /> Beginning at the existing intersection of the northwest right of
<br />way of Ponderosa Street and Elmhurst Lane (formerly Spivey Street);
<br />thence South 64°11'18'', along the existing northern right of way of
<br />Elmhurst Lane a distance of 10.59' to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING
<br />on the proposed western right of way of Ponderosa Street; thence South
<br />44°57'11" East along the proposed western right of way of Ponderosa
<br />Street, a distance of 7.45' to the proposed northern right_of way
<br />of Elmhurst Lane (formerly Spivey Street); thence South 57v15'27''
<br />West along the proposed northern right of way of Elmhurst Lane
<br />(formerly Spivey Street) a distance of 165.90' to a point; thence
<br />South 59~57'57" West along the proposed northern right of way of
<br />Elmhurst Lane, a distance of 105.04' to a point; thence North
<br />52028'25" East along the existing north ern right of way of Elmhurst
<br />Lane a distance of 66.73'; thence North 64°11'18'' East along
<br />the existing northern right of way of Elmhurst Lane a distance of
<br />206.21' to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.

<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents
<br />and complete all transactions incident to the conveyance of this property, subject
<br />to the terms and conditions of the City's advertisement of this property."

<br /> 74-21 "I submit the attached resolution and recommend its adoption. This appoints
<br />five viewers for the closing of Amelia Street south of the former line of Scott Street.

<br /> This closing has been approved by the Planning Commission and requested by W.
<br />T. Ryan and C. S. Daniel."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Smith, the following resolution was
<br />adopted, and by the following vote:
<br />
<br />"A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING OF AMELIA STREET SOUTH OF
<br />THE FORMER LINE OF SCOTT STREET.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, W. T. Ryan and C. S. Daniel have made application to vacate and close
<br />the hereinafter described portion of a certain street and it appearing that notice
<br />of the application and request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted on January
<br />4, 1974, on the bulletin board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, and
<br />on the bulletin board of the General District Court of the City of Portsmouth and
<br />on the bulletin board of the Municipal Building for the City of Portsmouth.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that Frank N. Bilisoly, Louis J. Leitner, Belvin W. Blachman, James V. McGehee and
<br />James Choate, be appointed viewers to view the hereinafter described portion of such
<br />street and report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if
<br />any, what inconvenience would result from vacating and closing the following:
<br />
<br /> All that parcel of land situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />consisting of the portion of Amelia Avenue lying south of the southern
<br />line of Scott Street, and described as follows: Beginning at the south-
<br />west intersection of Scott Street and Amelia Avenue and thence in a
<br />southerly direction along the west line of Amelia Avenue 136.37 feet
<br />to the boundary line of "Grove Park", being also the line of the property
<br />of Dr. A. P. Long, Jr.g thence North along the line of the property of
<br />Dr. A. P. Long, Jr. 42 26' OO" :East 95 feet, more or less, to the eastern
<br />line of Amelia Avenue; thence Northerly along the eastern line of Amelia
<br />Avenue 62.5 feet, more or less, to the southern line of Scott Street as
<br />it existed prior to its vacation on September 12, 1967, thence North
<br />86° 20' OO" West 60 feet to the southwest intersection of Scott Street and
<br />Amelia Avenue, at the point of beginning."

<br /> 74-22 "In order for the City of Portsmouth to receive Federal funds for the
<br />construction of sewage treatment facilities, it is required that a resolution be adopted
<br />authorizing an application to be submitted. The City is now in the process of preparing
<br />an application package for upgrading the Pinners Point Plant to secondary treatment.
<br />By law, we are required to upgrade this plant. I submit the attached resolution authori;
<br />the submission of an application for Federal funds for the construction of waste water
<br />treatment facilities and recommend its adoption."
