King, the following resolution was <br />adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIE}~RS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF PAGE STREET <br />LOCATED BETWEEN CAROLINA AVEN~E AND THE SOUTHERN LINE OF SOUTHERN AVENUE <br />(S-?4-1). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Terminals, Incorporated, has made application to vacate and <br />close the hereinafter d~scribed portion of a certain street and it appearing that notice <br />of the application and request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted on January <br />28, 1974, on the several bulletin boards of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, <br />and on the bulletin board of the General District Court of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />that Frank ~. Bilisoly, Raymond Tweed, Zalmon I. Blachman, Louis J. Leitner, and James <br />L. Choate, be appointed viewers to view the hereinafter described portion of such street <br />and report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion, any, and if any, what <br />incGnvenience would result from vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being in the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, and comprising that portion of Page Street <br />located between the southern right of way line of Carolina Avenue on the <br />north and the southern right of way line of Southern Avenue on the south; <br />such parcel being 60 feet, more or less in width, and 260 feet, more or <br />less, in length." <br /> <br />Ayes: Johnson, King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 74-48 "I submit the attached resolution and recommend its adoption. This appoints <br />S viewers for the closing of a 10ft. strip of Madison Street between Sixth Street and <br />Seventh Street. This closing has been requested by the Portsmouth Redevelopment and <br />Housing Authority and will be used in accordance with Effingham Conservation and Redevelo <br />ment Project Va.
