<br />of-way for the Greenwood Drive Interstate 264 Interchange.

<br /> The cost of construction of the Greenwood Drive Interchange will be paid from State
<br />and Federal funds. However, the City is required to furnish the 32.716 acres of right-
<br />of-way for the construction of this interchange. The total acreage was appraised for
<br />$294,444; however, due to the donation of 9 acres to the City of Portsmouth, the total
<br />cost of the acreage required will be $213,444. The balance of the above appropriation
<br />is the cost of the appraisal contracted for the City for the 32.716 acres.
<br />
<br /> The Greenwood Drive 1-264 Interchange is included in our S-Year Capital Improvement
<br />Program; however, there were no local funds shown as being required for the construction
<br />or right-of-way purchase on this project. Based on this, it will be necessary to reduce
<br />or delay Capital Projects scheduled for the current year in the amount of approximately
<br />$215,000."

<br />approved on first reading; also letter be forwarded ~o Mr. George T. McLean in appreciatio
<br />of 9 acres of land donated by him, was adopted by the following vote:

<br />FOR THE PURC}~SE OF REAL PROPERTY TO BE UTILIZED FOR HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION."

<br /> 74-80 - "I submit the following resolution and recommend its adoption. This resoluti
<br />adopts the procedures for construction of public schools in the City of Portsmouth:
<br />The attached procedures have been reviewed by the Portsmouth School Board, Municipal
<br />Finance Commission, the City Engineering Department, and the City Manager. This resolutio
<br />will adopt the procedures for selection of architect, design of school, construction,
<br />furnishings, supervision for construction and appropriation of funds.
<br />
<br /> A copy of the letter from the Portsmouth Municipal Finance Commission recommending
<br />the adoption of this resolution and the construction procedures is attached for your
<br />information."

<br /> "At the regular monthly meeting of the Municipal Finance Commission held on Wednesday
<br />February 20, 1974, this Commission unanimously adopted the pr0posed procedures for constr~
<br />tion of schools in the-City of Portsmouth. We feel that the School Construction Procedure
<br />will assist the City and School Board in the planning, design, construction, and funding
<br />of public schools in the City of Portsmouth in the future.~'
