378 <br /> <br />September 17~ 1974 <br /> <br /> 74-384 The following erdinance, approved on first reading at last meeting, was <br />taken up and read: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF AN ALLEY LOCATED WEST OF THE INTERSECTION <br />OF LECKIE STREET AND PENINSULA AVENUE." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Early, the ordinance was adopted, and <br />by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 74-385 The following ordinance, deferrer from the meeting of September 10, 1974, <br />was taken up and read: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, <br />BY AMENDING SECTION 2-165 THEREOF PERTAINING TO THE DEPAR~4ENT OF PUBLIC <br />SAFETY." <br /> <br /> The following request to speak received from George R. Overshain, 2910 Wesley <br />Avenue, was read: <br /> <br /> "At this time I would like to r~quest permission to speak before the members of City <br />Council at the meeting to be held on Tuesday, September 17, 1974, at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> I, Durham E. Overshain, am representing the Fraternal Order of Police and other <br />members of the Portsmouth Police Department." <br /> <br /> <br />
