This appropriation will be from <br />Entitlement V of General Revenue Sharing which covers the period of July 1, 1974 through <br />June 30, 1975. The monthly subsidy under the new contract is <br />$7,500 per month, the same amount that was paid under the previous contract. The City <br />Manager recommends adoption of this ordinance on first reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Holley, the following ordinance was ap- <br />proved on first reading, and by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE'TO APPROPRIATE $97,500 RROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE PAYMENT <br />OF OPERATING SUBSIDIES UNDER THE CONTRACT WITH COF[MUNITY MOTOR BUS COMPANY." <br /> <br /> 74-440 - "Consideration of authorizing ~nd directing the City Manager to enter into <br />a contract with Community Motor Bus Company to provide bus service for public' trans- <br />portation. <br /> <br /> The contract period will be June I, 1974 through June 30, 1975, unless Community <br />Motor Bus %s-~urchased by Tidewater Transportation District Commission before that date. <br />The City Manager recommends execution of this contract." <br /> <br />Th~efollowing report was submitted by the City Attorney: <br /> <br /> "The document attached hereto is a draft of the proposed contrant with Community <br />Motor Bus Company. The obligation of the City of Portsmouth under this contract is to <br />subsidize the Bus Company at the rate of $7500.00 per month. The contract applies to <br />the months o£ June ,~D?4 ~/~r~/ig~ ~g~un~ 1975. The City Manager recommends adoption of this ordinance on first <br />reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following ordinance was ap- <br />proved on first reading, and by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $31,188.80 FROM THE FEDERAL GRANTS FUND FOR <br />THE OPERATION OF THE SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM ADMINIST~B~ BY THE DEPARTMENT <br />OF RECREATION." <br /> <br /> 74-442 "Consideration of a~resolution to authorize and direct the City ~a~iger <br />to convey certain City-owned property to Tidewater Transportation District Commission. <br /> <br /> At its September meeting, the Transportation Commission authorized an appraisal <br />of the subject property, and based on this appraisal, at its October meeting, 'fhe <br />Commission revised its FY 1975 Capital Improvement Program 'to 'include purchase of the <br />property needed for the fringe parking lot at Greenwood Drive and Route 1-264.
