<br /> WHEREAS, it is the sense of Council that, in consideration of the payment of the cost
<br />of the improvements, including construction, engineering, inspection and administration, the
<br />intarests of the City of Portsmouth are protected, while providing a necessary extension of
<br />water mains for fire protection in the City of Suffolk.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virffinia, that
<br />the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed t~ execute, on behalf of the
<br />City of Portsmouth, the attached water main extension agreement.
<br />

<br /> BY REPEALING SECTIONS 37-33 AND 37-53 THEREOF PERTAINING TO SOLICITATION
<br /> OF TAXICAB PATRONAGE AND TRANSFBRABILITY OF CERTIFICATES OF PUBLIC CON-
<br /> VENIENCE; BY AMENDING SECTION 37-1 PERTAINING TO OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE OF
<br /> TAXICAB OPERATORS; BY AMENDING SECTION 37-28 THEREOF PERTAINING TO DESIG-
<br /> NATION OF TAXICAB STANDS; BY AMENDING SECTION 37-56 PERTAINING TO REVOCATION

<br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Oast, that ordinance be approved
<br />on final reading.

<br /> Substitute motion of Mr. Oast and seconded by Mr. Barnes that the ordinance be
<br />amended, amount to be appropriated to be $52,500, effective from June 1, 1974, and
<br />being enough until December 31, 1974, was approved, as amended, on final reading,
<br />and by the following vote:
