<br /> 74-502 "Consideration of a resolution authorizing the City to incur costs in
<br />connection with the preparation of a Cormmunity Development Program application.

<br /> This resolution authorizes costs to be incurred for activities in planning and pre-
<br />paring a Community Development application depending on the availab.ility of Community
<br />Development funds after January 1, 1975, a~nd upon submission of an acceptable Community
<br />Development application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development in accordance
<br />with its regulations. The City Manager recom~mends approval of this resolution."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the following resolutio5 ~o~be
<br />amended to set a ceiling not to exceed $5,000, was adopted, and by the following vote:
<br />
<br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INCUR COSTS IN CONNECTION
<br />WITH THE PREPARATION OF A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM APPLICATION.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, final regulations implementing the Housing and Community Development~
<br />Act of 1974 were published in the Federal Register on November 15, 1974; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, certain planning activities must be undertaken by the City of Portsmouth
<br />in connection with the preparation of an application to the Department of Housing
<br />and Urban Development for community development funds; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the aforementioned regulations authorize localities to incur costs for
<br />the planning and preparation of a community development application as of November
<br />1974, the effective date of th6se final regulations.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BB IT RESOLVED, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized
<br />to incur costs for necessary activities in conjunction with the planning and preparation
<br />of a community development application for the City of Portsmouth for the 1975 fiscal
<br />year.
<br />
<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that reimbursement for such expenditures will be dependent
<br />upon the availability of cormmunity development funds after January 1, 1975, and upon
<br />submission of an acceptable community development application to the Department of
<br />Housing and Urban Development in accordance with the regulations."

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $15,000 IN THE REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND
<br />IN THE CATEGORY OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR THE PURCHASE OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL
<br />COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the ordinance was adopted, and
<br />by the following vote:

<br />Nays: None

<br />OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, that bids be awarded to
<br />Motorola Communications & Electronics, Inc., in the amount of $10,102.36, and to
<br />General Electric Company in the amount of $4,412.00, was adopted, and by the following
<br />vote:
