lO0 <br /> <br />April Z2, 1975 <br /> <br /> All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate in the City of <br />Portsmouth, State of Virginia, and known, numbered and designated as Lot <br />£~0 6n the plat of the Western Branch Land Company, said plat being duly <br />recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, <br />Virginia, in Map Book 4, page 80, and bounded and described as follows, towit: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point on the South side of Glasgow Street 175 feet, more or <br />less, East of the Southeast intersection of Glasgow Street closed and London <br />Boulevard if Glasgow Street were extended and Kirn Avenue, and running thence <br />South 8S feet, more or less, thence East 25 feet; thence North 86 feet; more <br />or less, to the Southern side of Glasgow Street; and thence West along <br />the Southern side of Glasgow Street 25 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. <br /> <br /> BB IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to <br />complete all transactions and execute all documents incident to such conveyances." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Elliott, Hotley, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 75-170 "Consid-eration of a resolut£on<anthpr~izing-theCity Manager to convey to the <br />Virginia Port Authority certain City-owned propert~ in exchange for certain property owned <br />by VPA. <br /> <br /> This exchange of property between the City anm the Vlrg_nma Port Authority wmll finalize <br />the boundaries for the Sea-Land Terminal and will give ownership fo ~he City of Portsmouth <br />for all land on which this facility is being constructed. The City Manager recommends ap- <br />proval of this resolution." <br /> On Motion of Mr.Wentz and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following resolution was adopted~ <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CO~/EY TO VIRGINIA PORT AUTHORITY <br />CERTAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTY IN EXCHANGE FOR CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY VIRGINIA <br />PORT AUTHORITY. <br /> <br /> W/qBRF~tS, the City of Portsmouth <br />time transferred certain property in <br />Virginia Port Authority; and <br /> <br />and the Virginia Port Authority have from time to <br />favor of the City of Portsmouth and in favor of the <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, plans developed by Virginia Port Authority necessitate alterations in the <br />boundaries of properties now held by Virginia Port Authority and properties now held by <br />the City of Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> }filBREAS, the alteration of the boundaries can most feasibly be accomplished <br />an exchange of parcels of property of equal size and dimensions between the City <br />mouth and the Virginia Port Authority; and <br /> <br />through <br />of Ports- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 2.O9(c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth provides that City <br />may convey property to the Commonwealth of Virginia, or any political subdivision thereof, <br />without advertisement and without receiving bids; and <br /> <br /> WliEREAS, the Virginia Port-Authority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth <br />of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the following described <br />property to the Virginia Port Authority: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain tract, piece or parcel of land, situate in the Pinners <br />Point Section of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, containing 0.0562 acres <br />by survey made by Langley, McDonald and Overman, consulting engineers, dated <br />November 6, 1974, a plat of said survey being attached hereto as Exhibit "A", <br />that this property is conveyed in gross and not by the acre, being more <br />particularly bounded and described as follows to~it: <br /> <br /> Beginning at the true point of beginning, which point is described as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at the point of intersection of the northwestern right of way <br />line of the Elizabeth River Tunnel District with the northern right of way <br />of Seaboard Avenue extended; thence running northwest along the arc of the <br />curve to the left, said curve having a radius of 470.7~', a distance of <br />197.31 feet to a point; thence along said curve to the left a distance of <br />210.46 feet to a point; thence south 84~50'ZO" West 106.44 feet to a point; <br />thence North 10912'55" West 495.77 feet to a point; thence North 6944'33" <br />East 74.19 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing North <br />6o44'35" East 70.00 feet to a point; thence turning South 83015'27'` <br />~ast 70.00 feet to a point; thence turning South 51044'53'' West 98.99 feet <br />to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING, said parcel being a triangular shape parcel <br />~slgnated as parcel "A" on the aforesaid plat of survey. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to <br />receive from the Virginia Port Authority a conveyance of a properly described parcel of <br />land; and <br /> <br /> <br />
