Moy ~x <br /> <br /> 75-194 "Consideration of a resolution ratifying the appointment of citizens from the <br />City of Portsmouth to an advisory committee to theJ~Councils of the City of Portsmouth and the <br />City of Norfolk to be known as an Over-All Economic Development Program Coramittee. <br /> <br /> This resolution ratifies the appointment of the citizens from the City of Portsmouth <br />to an advisory committee'on over-all economic development. The committee will act in an <br />advisory capacity in the planning and implementation of a joint economic development plan. <br />The City Manager ~ecommends adoption of this resolution." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and secondedkby Mr. Wentz, the following resolution was adopted, <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE-APPOINTMENT OF CITIZENS FROM THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH <br />TO AN ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO THE COUNCILS OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH AND THE CITy <br />OF NORFOLK WHICH ADVISORY C05~ITTBE IS KNOWN AS THE OVER-ALL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />PROGRAM COMMITTEE WHICH ADVISORY COMMITTEE WILL TAKE PART IN THE PLAN AND IMPLEMEN- <br />TATION OF A JOINT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that it ratifies <br />the appointment of citizens from the City of Portsmouth to an Advisory Committee to the <br />Councils of the City of Portsmouth and the City of Norfolk which Advisory Committee is known <br />as the Over-all Economic Development Program Committee which Advisory Committee will take <br />part in the plan and implementation of a joint Economic Development Plan. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of such Economic Development Citizens Committee <br />from the City of Portsmouth shall be as follows: <br /> <br />Ramon E. Davis <br />Mrs. Karen Burnaska <br />William H. Blackwell, Jr. <br />Albert J. Resolute, Sr." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 74-195 "Consideration of a resolution authorizing theCCity Manager to sign a license <br />agreement on behalf of the City of Portsmouth granting to Honeywell Information System, Inc., <br />a license to use certain software developed by the Data Processing Department of the City of <br />Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> This agreement shall be in effect for a period of 5 years and in consideration for the <br />licenses granted to Honeywell they will pay a royalty to the City. The royalty will consist <br />of 25% on the purchase price or lease oftthe software over the next 5 years. It is estimated <br />that the royalties to be paid to the City during the first three years of marketing the soft- <br />ware will be approximately $55,000. The City Manager recommends adoption of this resolution.' <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Holley, the following resolution was adopted, <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> DA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A LICENSE AGREEMENT ON <br />/BEHALF OF THE.CITY OF PORTSMOUTH GRANTING TO HONEYWELL INFO~qATION SYSTEMS, <br /> INC., A LICENSE TO USE CERTAIN SOFTWARE DEVELOPED BY THE DATA PROCESSING <br /> DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that it authorizes <br />the City Manager to sign a license agreement on behalf of the City of Portsmouth granting <br />Honeywell Infornnation Systems, Inc., a license to use certain software developed by the <br />Data Processing Department of the City of Portsmouth." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 75-196 "Consideration of a resolution supporting the efforts of the Commissioner of <br />the Department of Highways and Transportation of the Commonwealth of Virginia requesting <br />the Federal Highway Department to include the proposed downtown tunnel and bridge aspart <br />of the Interstate Highway System. <br /> <br /> Copies of the correspondence from Mr. Fugate to Mayor Davis and the Federal Highway <br />Administrator are attached for your information. The City Manager recommends adoption of <br />this resolution." <br /> <br /> The following letter from Director of Planning was presented: <br /> <br /> "At its regular monthly meeting on May 6, 1975, the City Planning Commission again took <br />up the matter of another vehicular crossing of the Elizabeth River. The Commission discussed <br />a letter dated April 24th from the Virginia Commissioner of Highways and Transportation to thc <br />Federal Highway Administrator in which Commissioner Fugate again inquired concerning possi- <br /> <br /> <br />
