<br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MJkNAGER TO CONVEY CITY O~%~ED PROPERTY
<br />TO THE PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY (SOUTHSIDE I AND II
<br />REDEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, BLOCK 9-52, PARCEL 3; BLOCK 15-53, PARCEL ?6;
<br />BLOCK 41-14, PARCELS 32, 33, 34, SS, 36, 37, 60, 61 AND 62; BLOCK 41-10,
<br />PARCEL 35).
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth desires to convey to the Portsmouth Redevelopment
<br />and Housing Authority certain parcels of property which are hereinafter described; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the said parcels are no longer needed by the City of Portsmouth; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth in conjunction with redevelopment activities in
<br />Southside under the 1974 Community Development Program has scheduled for dedication to
<br />Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority the hereinafter described parcels; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the conveyance of these
<br />its maintenance of effort requirement
<br />the Community Development Act; and
<br />
<br />parcels will enable the City of Portsmouth to meet
<br />in accordance with the rules and regulations of
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Section 2.09(c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth provides that
<br />the City may convey property to the Commonwealth of Virginia, or any political subdivision
<br />thereof, without advertisement and without receiving bids; and
<br />
<br /> W}~RBAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority is a political subdivision
<br />of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the following described
<br />property to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority:

<br />Parcel 1:
<br />
<br /> All those certain lots of land, with their appurtenances, situate in the City
<br />a~pPortsmouth, Virginia, and known, number and designated as Lots Nos. 6, 7, 8,
<br />~W~t51 and 52 and parts of Lots Nos. 29 and 30, on the Plat of Harry L. Alexander
<br />duly recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Ports-
<br />mouth, Virginia, in Map Book 1, page 39, and bounded and described as follows,
<br />to~it: BEGINNING at the intersection of the southern line of the right of way
<br />of the Seaboard CoastLine Railroad Company with the eastern line of Court
<br />Street and from thence running South along Court Street 120 feet; thence easterly
<br />and perpendicular to Court Street 129.41 feet to the western line of Lot 51 on
<br /> said plat; thence South along the western line of said Lot 80.1 feet to the
<br />~orth side of Wythe Street; thence East along Wythe Street 25 feet; thence North
<br />along the eastern line of Lots S1 and 32, on said plat 258.7 feet to the right
<br />6f way of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Company; and thence West along the
<br />~a!d©right of way 102.3 feet to the point of beginning.

<br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land, situated in the City of Portsmouth,
<br />Virginia, and bounded and described as follows, to~it: BEGINNING ~n the North
<br />side of Wythe Street at a point where the western line of Third Street, if pro-
<br />longed, would intersect the northern line of,Wythe Street, and from such point
<br />of beginning running northerly on a line forming a right angle with Wythe Street
<br />239 feet, 4 inches, to the right of way of Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Company;
<br />thence running in an easterly direction along the right of way of the Seaboard
<br />Coast Line Railroad Company 420 feet; thence in a southerly direction and parallel
<br />with the said western line of Third Street, if extended, North 120 feet; thence
<br />westerly 11 feet; thence:sou~herl-y'.;l~/?feet to the North side of Wythe Street;
<br />thence in a westerly direction along the North side of Wythe Street 409 feet to
<br />the point of beginning.

<br />the western side of Court Street, at the center line of the double house numbered
<br />~110 and 1112 Court Street, the said point being distant 105 fee~ 3 inches, more
<br />or less,South from the southwestern intersection of Court and Clifford Streets;
<br />thence running west through the center line of the said double house 60 feet;
<br />thence South and parallel with Court Street 22 feet 5 inches, more or less;
<br />thence East and parallel with Clifford Street 60 feet to Court Street; thence ~
<br />North along the western side of Court Street 22 feet 3 incheg, more or less,
<br />to the point of beginning.

<br />Court Street 22 feet 3 inches to the center line of the double house numbered
<br />1110 and 1112 Court Street; thence West and parallel with Clifford Street and
<br />along the center line of the said double house 60 feet; thence North and parallel
<br />with Court Street 22 feet 3 inches; thence East and parallel with Clifford Street
