<br /> 75-521 (1) The following ordinance approved on first reading at Public Hearing Mee~ing,
<br />of August 12, 1975, was taken up and read:

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY
<br />AMENDING SECTION 40-31 OF SAID CODE PERTAINING TO DEFINITIONS."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Holley, the ordinance was adopted, and by the
<br />following vote:

<br />Nays: None
<br />
<br /> 75-321 (2) The following ordinance approved on first reading at Public Hearing Meeting
<br />of August 11, 1975, was taken up and read:

<br />'AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY
<br />ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 40-157A PERTAINING TO DIMENSIONAL REQUIRE-
<br />MENTS FOR THE CONVERSION OF EXISTING RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURES INTO TWO OR MORE
<br />DWELLING UNITS WITHIN THE RESIDENTIAL R-75 AND OFFICE RESIDENTIAL OR-TS DISTRICTS."

<br />of AuguSt 11, 1975, was taken up and read:

<br />'AN ORDINANCE TO ~4END THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY
<br />ADDING THERETO A NEW SUB-SECTION NUMBERED 40-138(n) PERTAINING TO DIMENSIONAL
<br />REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CONVERSION OF EXISTING RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURES INTO TWO
<br />OR MORE DWELLING UNITS WITHIN THE RESIDENTIAL R-60 AND RESIDENTIAL R-60-A
<br />DISTRICTS."

<br /> From information received regarding a bomb scare, Mayor Davis at 8:20 p.m. inf©~med
<br />the Council and those present in the Chamber to vacate the building in an orderly fashion
<br />while it was being searched. After a search of the building, the bomb was not found and the
<br />Council reconvened at 8:45 p.m.
<br />
<br /> 75-324 - The following ordinance approved on first reading at regu~a~ meeting of August
<br />12, 1975, was taken up and read:
<br />
<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $250,000 FROM THE FEDERAL GRANTS FUND FOR A SIDE-
<br />WALK REPLACEMENT PROJECT IN OLDE TOWNE."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the ordinance was adopg~d, and by

<br /> 75-325 - The following ordinance approved nn first reading at regular meeting of August
<br />12, 1975, was taken up and read:

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $160,643 FROM T~E FEDERAL GRANTS FUND FOR THE
<br />CONTINUED OPERATION OF THE PORTSMOUTH DRUG FREE CENTER PROJECT."

<br />OPERATION OF A COMPREH'ENSIVE HUMAN SERVICES DELIVERY AND ~NFORMATION SYSTEM."
