<br />The following reports from the City Manager were presented:
<br />
<br /> 75-350 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $82,575 from
<br />the Capital Improvement Fund for the construction of parking lots in the Olde T~wne Con-
<br />servation Project.
<br />
<br /> This appropriation will provide the necessary funds for the construction of 5 parking
<br />lots in the Olde Towne area in accordance with the City's commitments under the agreement
<br />for the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority for Olde Towne. This appropriation
<br />does include the funds for the development of the parking area on G~asgow and Water Streets
<br />adjacent to the. Citizens Trust Bank. The mini-park scheduled for this site will be bid at
<br />a later date and coordinated with the waterfront plan. The City Manager recommends adoption
<br />on first reading."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Oast and seconded bY Mr. Early, the follgwing ordinance was approved
<br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote:

<br />CONSTRUCTION OF PARKING LOTS IN THE OLDE TOWNE CONSERVATION PROJECT."

<br />Company, being low bidder, in the amount of $62,437.75, was adopted by unanimous vote.

<br /> 75-351 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading
<br />the Capital Improvement Fund to make the necessary repairs to
<br />Lincoln Street.

<br />to appropriate $12,500 from
<br />City-owned buildings at 427
<br />
<br /> This appropriation will provide the necessary funds to repair structurally and electri-
<br />cally the Portsmouth D~y Care Center, as well as plumbing repairs, at 427 Lincoln Street
<br />which is City-owned property currently being leased. The repairs that will be accomplished
<br />are necessary in order to preserve the building and to prevent further deterioration. The
<br />building ms currently in sound structural condition and the improvements that will be made
<br />will extend the life of the building and prevent any major expenditures in the future. This
<br />work will ~e accomplished by the Building and Maintenance Division of the City. The City
<br />Manager recommends adoption on first reRding.'

<br /> On motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following ordinance was ao-
<br />proved on first reading, and by unanimous vote:

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $12,500 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR
<br />NECESSARY REPAIRS TO THE CITY OWNED BUILDING AT ~27 LINCOLN STREET."
