August 19. 2975 On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. O~st, the ordinance was adopted, and by the following vote: Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis Nays: None 75-329 The following ordinance approved on £irst reading at regular meeting of August 12, 1975, was taken up and read: "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $20,680 FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO THE P~RTSMOUTH PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR BOOKS AND EQUIPMENT.' On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded 5y Mr. Oast, the ordinance was adopted, and by the following vote: Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Hotley, Oast, Wentz, Davis Nays: None 75-341 The following ordinance approved on first reading at regular meeting of August 12, 1975, was taken up and read: "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $30,Z16.32 FROM THE GENERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND IN THE CATEGORY OF RECREATION AND MULTI-PURPOSE/GENERAL GOVERNMENT EQUIPMENT." On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the ordinance was adopted, and~by the following vote: Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis Nays: None 75-342 - The following ordinance approved on first reading at regular meeting of August 12, 1975, was taken up and read: "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $30,216.32 FROM THB GENERAL FUND FOR RECREATION EQUIPMENT." On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Oast, the ordinance was adopted, and by the following vote: Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis Nays: None The following reports from the City Manager were presented: 75-350 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $82,575 from the Capital Improvement Fund for the construction of parking lots in the Olde T~wne Con- servation Project. This appropriation will provide the necessary funds for the construction of 5 parking lots in the Olde Towne area in accordance with the City's commitments under the agreement for the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority for Olde Towne. This appropriation does include the funds for the development of the parking area on G~asgow and Water Streets adjacent to the. Citizens Trust Bank. The mini-park scheduled for this site will be bid at a later date and coordinated with the waterfront plan. The City Manager recommends adoption on first reading." On motion of Mr. Oast and seconded bY Mr. Early, the follgwing ordinance was approved on first reading, and by unanimous vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $82,575 FROM THE CAPITAl IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PARKING LOTS IN THE OLDE TOWNE CONSERVATION PROJECT." ~6ti6fl ef~Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Oast, to a~rd the contract to Aldo Constructio] Company, being low bidder, in the amount of $62,437.75, was adopted by unanimous vote. 75-351 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading the Capital Improvement Fund to make the necessary repairs to Lincoln Street. to appropriate $12,500 from City-owned buildings at 427 This appropriation will provide the necessary funds to repair structurally and electri- cally the Portsmouth D~y Care Center, as well as plumbing repairs, at 427 Lincoln Street which is City-owned property currently being leased. The repairs that will be accomplished are necessary in order to preserve the building and to prevent further deterioration. The building ms currently in sound structural condition and the improvements that will be made will extend the life of the building and prevent any major expenditures in the future. This work will ~e accomplished by the Building and Maintenance Division of the City. The City Manager recommends adoption on first reRding.' On motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following ordinance was ao- proved on first reading, and by unanimous vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $12,500 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR NECESSARY REPAIRS TO THE CITY OWNED BUILDING AT ~27 LINCOLN STREET."
