<br />At a regular meeting of the CitF Council, held on August 19, 1975, there were present:

<br />Richard J. Davis, Jack P. Barnes, E. Saunders Early, Jr., Archie Elliott, Jr.,
<br />James W. Holley, Edward L. Oast, Jr.., Robert W. Wentz, Jr., R. T~ Williams,
<br />City Manager, H. M. Myers, Jr., Assistant City Manager, Gordon B. Tayloe, Jr.,
<br />City Attorney.

<br /> 75-321 - The following ordinance approved on first reading at the Public Hearing meeting
<br />of August 11, 1975, was taken up and read:

<br />The following citizens spoke against the ordinance:

<br /> ~ Presented petition with approximately 700 signatures.
<br /> Motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Oast, the matter to be deferred until study is
<br />received and more information is available, was adopted by unanimous vote.

<br />Division Tournament and Runnerup in the Southern Region Tournament. By your performance you
<br />have brought great honor and prominence throughout the State and to the City of Portsmouth.

<br />saying goes, "Victory is Sweet and Defeat is Bitter", we are
<br />the State and our City admirably."
