<br />LIBRARY BOOKS."

<br /> 75-423 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $620,290 in the
<br />Public Utility Fund for HUD Pro~ect WS-4-VA for upgrading the City water system and construc-
<br />tion of an elevated water tank.
<br />
<br /> This appropriataon represents Federal funds received in the amount outlined above as
<br />their first payment on the Federal share of Project ~S-4-VA. The project was approved for
<br />$1.6 million with the HUD grant being 50% of the eligible cost and the City's share being 50%~
<br />There will be additional Federal funds £orthcom~nga based on the total amount of the p~oject.
<br />This appropriates the amoun't received to date. The City Manager recommends adoption on first
<br />reading."

<br /> 75-424 "Consideration of an ordinance on first readingtto appropriate $545,4~7 from the
<br />Capital Improvement Fund for Phase I renovation of Harry Hunt Junior High School.
<br />
<br /> This appropriation provides the necessary funds for' the~contract plumbing and
<br />plumbing demolition costs, architect and engineering fees, an~ contingencies. The total costal
<br />is $568,257, with a previous appropriation of $22,800, leaving a balance for the current
<br />approiation of $545,457. A copy of the School Board resolution requesting the appropyiation
<br />and letter to the Municipal Finance Commission is attached for your information. The City
<br />Manager recommends adoption on first reading."

<br />PHASE I RE~D~.RTION OF HARRY HUNT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL."

<br /> 75-42S "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $15,000 from the
<br />Federal Grants Fund for an annual Police Training Program.
<br />
<br /> This ordinance will appropriate funds provided by the Division of Justice and Crime ~re-
<br />vention to institute a Police Training Program. The purpose of the program is to provide~trai
<br />ing in management, supervision and specialized investigative techniquestto approximately 100
<br />Police Officers. Of the total appropriation, $14,250 are Federal funds, $750 are local funds
<br />which have already been appropriated in the Police Department's operating budget for 1975-76.
<br />The City Manager recommends adoption on first reading."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Oast, the following ordinance was approved
<br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote:

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $15,000 FROM. THE FEDERAL GRANTS FUND FOR AN
<br />ANNUAL POLICE TRAINING PROGRAM."

<br /> 75-426 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $33,000 from the
<br />Capital Improvement Fund for engineering and design services in connection with the Waterfront
<br />Plan.
<br />
<br /> This appropriation will provide $2D,000 for the design work on that portion of the seawal
<br />south of the north inlet and $13,000 for comprehensive engineering services for all public
<br />utilities such as water, sewerage, drainage, etc~, in connection with the waterfront develop-
<br />ment. This appropriation is part of the first-year commitment in the 5-Year Capital Improve-
<br />ment Program for public expenditures in the Revelopment of the Wat4rfront Project. The City
<br />Manager recommends adoption on first reading."
