The <br />appropriation includes contingencies, purchase of land, architectural and engineering fees. <br />This project was included in the 1974-75 work program with an additional supplement of <br />$100,000 in the 1975-76 Capital Improvement Budget. The City Manager recommends adoption <br />on first reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by ~nanimous vote: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $245,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF THE PORT NORFOLK FIRE STATION." <br /> <br /> 75-460 - ~o~s-i~eratmon ef.~n ordinance on first reading to appropriate $100,000 from <br />the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund in the category of Public Safety-Capital Improvements <br /> <br /> Based on the cost of constructing the Elm Avenue Fire Station, an additional $100,000 <br />was budgeted in the 1975-76 Capital Improvement Program as a supplement for the construction <br />of the Port Norfolk Fire Station. The $100,000 was included in the Planned Use Report for <br />Revenue Sharing funds under the category of Public Safety. This appropriation will provide <br />the $100,000 to the Capital Improvement Fund as the supplementary funds for the cost of <br />constructing the fire station. This appropriation will fund additional construction requested by Sea-Land, interesl <br />costs, legal and administrative expenses. The entire project was recently funded by revenue <br />bonds issued by the City for the financing of this project. All public improvements included in this appropriation are part of the <br />City's non-cash commitments contracted in the cooperative agreement with the Portsmouth <br />Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
