Walker, 1749 Sprattey Street, <br />City Manager and present form of City Government. <br /> <br />in regards to removal of certain amount <br />spoke regarding appointment of Assistant <br /> <br /> 75-508 - The following letter received from Director of Planning was Fresented: <br /> "Culminating several months of research, the City Planning Commission at its regular <br />monthly meeting on November 4, 1975 resolved to recommend that the Des Mcines Avenue Fire <br />Station at 1806 Des Moines Avenue be decla~klsurplus and disposed of by the City of Portsmoutt <br />at public auction. <br /> The Commission found no interes% among municipal departments for making use of the aban- <br />doned fire station. The Commission noted that the structure is in a state of disrepair and <br />did not feel it prudent to offer such on a lease basis. The Commission during its October <br />7th monthly meeting received neighborhood views on the need for more services which might be <br />dispensed from a facility such as this structure. However, the Commission concluded that this <br />Residential R-60 site is un~sr sufficient general restrictions and could be acquired by some <br />organization from the city and subsnquently utilized for purposes suitable to those resident <br />in the Pre~is Park Neighbcrhood." <br /> Motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. £11iott, to concur in the recommendation of <br /> the Planning Commission and b~edeclared surplus, was adopted by unanimeus vote. <br /> 75-~01 - The following letter received from Director of Planning was presented: <br /> "At its regular monthly meeting on November 4, 1975, this Commission considered the <br /> matter of four Planned Unit Development applications approved in 1972 and 1973. Our declining <br /> National economy has obviously had an adverse effect on these projects. Lack of PUD progress <br /> is in keeping with a decline of housing construction in which Portsmouth may experience a net <br /> loss of dwelling units during 1975. <br /> On September 2nd, Attorney Benjamin J. Levy appeared before this Commission and stated <br /> that PUD-73-1 BALLARD PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT was being abandoned by.,its owners~ With the <br /> assistance of City Attorney Gordon Tayloe, inquiries were~di'rected't~'represent'atives of ali <br /> Planned Unit Developments regarding their problems, intentions and wishes.
