<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Portsmoutk, Virginia,
<br /> the City of Portsmouth respectfully requests the Governor of the~Commonwealth of
<br /> to exercise his executive authority to request the reinstatement of the High
<br /> Target Funds for January 1, 1976 through June 50, 1976, to the City of Portsmouth."

<br /> 75-491 ,,Consideration of a resolution to provide for the acquisition of property
<br />located at 1590 Watson Street under eminent domain proceedings necessary for the construction
<br />alteration and widening of Watson Street in the Mount Hermon Project.
<br /> This property is necessary to accomplish the widening of Watson Street in accordance
<br />with the plan adopted for the Mount Hermon Redevelopment Project. The Housing Authority
<br />and the City have each attempted on numerous occasions to negotiate a settlement and a
<br />fair market price for the property. All negotiations have failed. The City Manager recom-
<br />ments adoption."

<br /> Motion of Mr. ~arly and seconded by Mr. Oast, to adopt the resolution; the motion dies

<br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Oast, that a similar resolution be prepared

<br /> This 10-ft. easement is necessary for underground utilities provided in the Olde Towne
<br /> Conservation and Historical District Project. The City Manager reco~ends adoption."
<br /> Motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Elliott, that the resolution be adopted.
<br /> Substitute motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Holley, that the resolution be
<br /> changed to read "James E. Odell and Fred F. Tucker", and the resolution be deferred to the
<br /> next meeting, was adopted by the following vote:
