<br /> 75.O1 feet to a point; thence south 83~13 east, 20.00 feet to a point; thence
<br /> south 7o50'50" east 75.01 feet to a point on the northern margin of Greenwood
<br /> Drive; thence south 89~59'west 20.00 feet along the northern margin of Green-
<br /> wood Drive to the point of beginning.
<br /> WHEREAS, said parcel is not being utilized in connection with the sewage pump
<br />station and the City of Portsmouth has no further need thereof and it is, therefore, surplus
<br />property; and
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has recommended that this strip be declared
<br />surplus property and sold.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESCLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to advertise and receive bids for
<br />the hereinabove described property on such terms and subject to such minimum bid restrictions
<br />as he may deem proper."

<br /> 76-167 - "Consideration of a resolution expressing the support of the Council for the
<br /> application of a grant to the D~ision of State Planning andCCommunity Affairs for the purposls
<br /> of constructing a nature facility and a nature trail for handicapped persons.
<br /> This resolution endorses an application through the Division of State Planning and Com-
<br /> munity Affairs for asistance in building and progmamming an outdoor nature facility to serve
<br />
<br />the handicapped. The City Manager recommends adoption."
<br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Wentz,
<br />and by the following vote:

<br />the following resolution was adopted,
<br />
<br /> "A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE SUPPORT OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR AN APPLICATION
<br /> FOR GRANT FUNDS TO CONSTRUCT A NATURE FACILITY AND NATURE TRAIL FOR THE
<br /> HANDICAPPED.
<br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has applied for Grant Funds from the
<br />State for assistance in building and programming an outdoor nature facility which will
<br />serve the handicapped; and
<br /> WHEREAS, such facility will house animal, plant and insect displays and also have
<br />a quarter mile special nature trail for the handicapped with audio visual aids and brail
<br />signs.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that the Council supports the application for Grant Funds to construct a nature facility
<br />and nature trail for the handicapped."

<br /> Treasurer to refund $105.98, with interest, in raal estate taxes for property located at
<br /> 1400 Hamilton Avenue.
<br /> Map 300, Parcel 14, was erroneously changed in 1972 to indicate that King Street between
<br /> Airline and Hamilton had been closed. The adjacent property owners were each recorded as
<br /> owning one-half of the footage of the closed portion of the street and property values~in-
<br /> creased accordingly. The street has not been closed; therefore, a refund, with interest,
<br /> since 1972-73 is ~n order. The City ~mnager recommends approval."
<br /> Motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Barnes, that authorization for refund be
<br /> interest, for property located at 1400 Hamilton Avenue, was adopted by unanimou
<br />
<br />granted, plus
<br />vote.
<br />
<br /> 76-169 "Consideration of a motion authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contrac
<br />with the City of Suffolk to provide certain specialized computer services to the City of
<br />Suffolk on a fee basis.
<br /> This contract is for a period of 5 years and all costs incurred in the execution of
<br />this contract will be paid by the City of Suffolk. The City Manager recommends approval."
<br /> Motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Blliott, that the City Manager be authorized
<br /> to enter into a contract with the City of Suffolk to provide certain specialized computer
<br /> services to the City of Su£folk on a fee basis, was adopted by unanimous vote.
