Walker, 1749 Spratley Street spoke on~Ch~t~rC~hang~ ~ga~ding election changes. · 76-17~ - The following letter from the City Treasurer was pres~n~d: "Attached herewith is list of Delinquent Personal Property Taxes for the Taxable Year 1975 as follows: Regular .$95,462.60 Business 70,603.10 Rental 5,014.00 Other 898.80 The original of this list and the P~rsonal Property Books for 197S have this date been turned over to Mr. E. K. Rabey III the Delinquent Tax Collector." (dated March 23, 1976) Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Oast, to be received as information and a list be placediin the Public Library, was adopted by unanimous vote. 76-178 Motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Barnes, that Dr. Fay I. Cart, Jr., Radiologist, be nominated to serve as a representative on the Hampton Roads Air Pollution Control District Committee, was adopted by unanimous vote. 76-179 - Motian of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Early, that the Council meet in an executive session prior to the next regularly scheduled Council meeting for the purpose of: (1) Discussing appointments to Boards and Commissions. Discussing the disposition of City property. Consultation with Counsel pertaining to legal matters; was adopted by the.following vote: Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast Wentz Davis Nays: None ' ' 76-180 - On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE WATER CONTROL BOARD TO APPROVE THE FACILITIES PLAN FOR THE NANSEMOND WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT. WHEREAS, Hampton Roads Sanitation District has submitted a facility plan to the State Water Control Board for construction of a sewage treatment plant at Pig Point in the City of Suffolk; and WHEREAS, such sewage treatment plant will serve the western part of the City of Portsmouth, parts of the Cities of Chesapeake and Suffolk as well as the Tidewater Community College which has been designated as the primary community college campus of the City of Portsmouth. WHEREAS, this Council on March 12, 1974 recognized the additional need of this area to be served by Hampton Roads Sanitation District. NOW, THEREFORE, that it requests the Nansemond wastewater BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, State Water Control Board to approve the facilities plan for the treatment plant. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk forward a copy of this resolution to the State Water Control Board, Hampton Roads Sanitation District and the State Public Health Department."
