Cart, Jr., <br />Radiologist, be nominated to serve as a representative on the Hampton Roads Air Pollution <br />Control District Committee, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 76-179 - Motian of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Early, that the Council meet in an <br />executive session prior to the next regularly scheduled Council meeting for the purpose of: <br /> <br /> (1) Discussing appointments to Boards and Commissions. <br /> Discussing the disposition of City property. <br /> Consultation with Counsel pertaining to legal matters; <br /> <br />was adopted by the.following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast Wentz Davis <br />Nays: None ' ' <br /> <br /> 76-180 - On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following resolution <br />was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE WATER CONTROL BOARD TO APPROVE THE <br /> FACILITIES PLAN FOR THE NANSEMOND WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Hampton Roads Sanitation District has submitted a facility plan <br />to the State Water Control Board for construction of a sewage treatment plant at Pig <br />Point in the City of Suffolk; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such sewage treatment plant will serve the western part of the City of <br />Portsmouth, parts of the Cities of Chesapeake and Suffolk as well as the Tidewater <br />Community College which has been designated as the primary community college campus of <br />the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council on March 12, 1974 recognized the additional need of this area <br />to be served by Hampton Roads Sanitation District. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, <br />that it requests the <br />Nansemond wastewater <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />State Water Control Board to approve the facilities plan for the <br />treatment plant. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk forward a copy of this resolution to <br />the State Water Control Board, Hampton Roads Sanitation District and the State Public <br />Health Department." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast Wentz, Davis <br />Nays: None ' <br /> <br /> <br />
