<br /> WHEREAS, Jean M. Davis has made application to vacate and close the hereinafter described
<br />portion of a certain street and it appearing that notice of the application and request
<br />for the appointment of viewers was duly posted July 16, 1976 on the bulletin board of the
<br />Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, the bulletin board of the City Council Chambers
<br />of the City of Portsmouth and the bulletin board of the General District Court, Civil Division
<br />of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia.

<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that Harrison Miller, Louis J. Leitner, A. N. Kendrick, Frank Bilisoly and Linon Vann be
<br />appointed viewers to view the hereinafter described portion of such street and to report
<br />to this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience
<br />would result in vacating and closing the following:

<br />receivables written-off up to a limit of $300 for each individual account. Also attached is
<br />a list of 6 accounts which are in excess of $300. Request a motion authorizing the ~inance
<br />Dim~ctor to write-off these 6 accounts as uncollectible in the amount of $4,074.36."

<br />to pay Seaboard Coastline Railroad $22,162 to replace existing highway crossing signals at
<br />Greenwood Drive.
<br />
<br /> %his resolution will commit the City to the funds required for the installation and re-
<br />location o~ signals in conjunction with the new Greenwood Drive interchange. The City had
<br />previously committed to purchasing the right-of-way and the railroad signals with all other
<br />costs being paid for by the State and Federal governments as part of the interstate ystem.
<br />The City Manager recommends adoption."

<br /> "A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND COMMITTING THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH TO PAY TO SEABOARD
<br /> COAST LINE RAILROAD COMPANY $22,162. TO REPLACE EXISTING HIGh%rAY CROSSING SIGNALS
<br /> AT GREENWOOD DRIVE.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, funds have previously been earmarked to pay for the replacement of highway
<br />crossing signals at Greenwood Drive in the Capital Improvement Program; and
