76-351 "Considerat&on of~.a resolution appointing viewers for closing portions of the <br />following streets: <br /> <br />(1) King Street between Hamilton Avenue and Airline <br /> <br />(2) Florida Avenue approximately 115' south of High <br /> <br />(5) Portion of southside of Watson Street. <br /> <br />Boulevard. <br />Street. <br /> <br />(4) Portion of Armstrong Street from the west side of Armstrong to 300' <br /> north of the intersection of Leckie Street. <br /> <br /> The request for closing all portions of the streets outlined above was made by the <br />Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority and has been recommended by the CityPPlanning <br />Commission. This resolution is only to appoint viewers for the closing of the streets out- <br />lined above. PARCEL II, ~-r~ORT~IS~-O~"~g~IDA~E~N~ICH <br />IS BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY THE SOUTHERN~IGHT OF WAY OF HIGH STREET AND ON <br />THE SOUTH BY A LINE WHICH IS 115 ~EET, MORE OR LESS, SOUTH OF THE SOUTHERN <br />RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF HIGH STREET. Bilisoly, Louis J. Leitner, Linon~Vann, and A. N. Kendrick be ap- <br />pointed as viewers to view the hereinafter described portions of such streets and to report <br />to this Council in writing whether in their Opinion, any, and if any, what inconvenience <br />would result in vacating and closing th~ following: <br /> <br />Parc el I <br /> <br />KING STREET - All that c~rtain parcel of land, lying and being <br />in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and comprising that portion <br />of King Street which is bounded on the east by the west right of <br />way line of Hamilton Avenue and boundedoon the west by the east <br />right of way line of Airline Boulevard. <br /> <br />Parcel II <br /> <br />FLORIDA AVENUE - Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, lying <br />and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and comprising <br />that portion of Florida ~venue which is bounded on the north by <br />the southern right of way line of High Street, and on the south <br />by a line which is 115 feet, more or less, south of the southern <br />right of way line of High Street. <br /> <br />Parcel III <br /> <br />WATSON STREET'- Ail those certain two pieces or parcels of land, <br />lying and being ih the City of Portsmouth, Yi!ginia and comprising <br />those portions of Watson Street as shown on a plat entitled, "Plat <br />Showing Survey of Portions Of Watson Street To Be Closed, Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, For Mt. Hermon Conservation And Redevelopment <br />Project', VA-R-69", prepared by Baldwin and Greff, Ltd., Engineers, <br />Surveyors, Planners', Portsmouth, Virginia, dated August 5, 1975, <br />1975, a copy which is attached hereto. <br /> <br />Parcel IV <br /> <br />ARMSTRONG STREET - All that certain parcel of land, lying and <br />being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and comprising that <br />~ortion of Armstrong Street beginning on the west side approxi- <br />mately 300 feet north of its intersection with Leckie Street; <br />thence west 61.31 feet to point; thence north 17.61 feet to a <br />point; thence east 47.02 feet to a point; thence southeast 25.83 <br />feet to the point of origin." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elli0tt, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 76-35Z "Consideration of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to accept the <br />highest bid for the purchase of city-owned property at 824-826 County Street." <br /> <br /> <br />
