27 <br /> <br />August 24, 1976 <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Wentz, the following ordinance was adopted <br />on first and final reading, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING STREET: A PORTION OF KING STREET WHICH IS <br />BOUNDED ON THE.~EAST BY THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF HAMILTON AVENUE AND BOUNDED <br />ON THE WEST BY THE EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF AIRLINE BOULEVARD. (S-76-22)." <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 76-349 "Consideration of an ordinance closing a portion of the following streets: <br />(S-76-14 and S-76-15) <br /> <br />(1) A portion of Armstrong Street. <br />(2) A portion of Florida Avenue. <br /> <br /> The Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to vacate a por- <br />tion of the above described streets. The v~ewers have reported that in their opinion no in- <br />convenience would result in the closing of the said streets. A copy of the viewers report <br />and a map showing the portions of the said streets to be closed is attached. The City Manager <br />recommends adoption." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following ordinance was adopted <br />on first and final reading, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />'AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING STREETS: PARCEL I, A PORTION OF ARMSTRONG STREET; <br />BEGINNING ON THE WEST SIDE OF ARMSTRONG STREET APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET NORTH OF ITS <br />INTERSECTION WITH LECKIE STREET; PARCEL II, A PORTION OF FLORIDA AVENUE WHICH IS <br />BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY THE SOUTHERN RIGHT-OF-WAY OF HIGH STREET AND ON THE SOUTH BY <br />A LINE WHICH IS 113 FEET, MORE OR LESS, SOUTH OF THE SOUTHERN RIGHT-DF-WAY LINE OF <br />HIGH STREET. (S-76-14&1S)" <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 76-350 "Consideration of an ordinance closing two triangular portions of the southside <br />of Watson Street. (S-76-17) <br /> <br /> The Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to vacate the <br />above described street. The viewers report that no inconvenience would result from the clos- <br />ing and discontinuation of said street. A copy of the viewers report and a map showing the <br />portion of the said street to be closed is attached. The City Manager recommends adoption." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Early, the following ordinance was adopted <br />on first and final reading, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING STREET: TWO TRIANGULAR PORTIONS OF SOUTH- <br />SIDE OF WATSON AVENUE. [S-76-17)" <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br />Nays: None' <br /> <br /> 76-351 "Consideration of an ordinance closing a portion of Hamilton Avenue between <br />Mt. Vernon Avenue and F~ederick Boulevard. (S-76-18) <br /> <br /> Jean M. Davis has made application to vacate a portion of the above described street. <br />The viewers report that no inconvenience w~uld result from the closing and discontinuance of <br />said street. A copy of the viewers report and a map showing the portion of the said street to <br />be closed is attached. The City Manager recommends adoption." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Early, the following ordinance was adopted on <br />firs~ and final reading, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING STREET: A PORTION OF HAMILTON AVENUE WHICH <br />LIES TO THE SOUTHEAST OF ITS INTERSECTION WITH MOUNT VERNON AVENUE AND TO THE <br />NORTH AND WEST OF FREDERICK BOULEVARD. (S-76-18)." <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> ~76-352 - "Consideration of a resolution autho~il~requisition of property under Eminent <br />Domain proceedings for the construction, expansion and improvement of the Pinners Point Sewage <br />Treatment Plant. <br /> <br /> This amended resolution adds additional names to the Bill of Complaint for the propertie~ <br />to be condemned for the expansion of the sewage treatment plant. This expansion includes the <br />upgrading to secondary standing of the Pin~ers Point Plant." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. ~arly and seconded b Mr. Elliott, the following resolution was adopted, <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
