<br /> 76-315 - On motion af Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following resolution
<br />approved on first reading at the Public Hearingmeeting of August 9, 1976, was adopted, and
<br />by the following vote:
<br />
<br /> (d) "A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT FOR OPERATING A CHILD CARE CENTER ON THE
<br /> WEST SIDE OF CHARLESTON AVE~X~JE BETWEEN JEFFERSON STREET AND WATTS AVENUE.

<br /> WHEREAS, Beulah Eason and Mr. & Mrs. Alfonze Chisholm have made
<br />to Section 40-75(b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />of a use permit as hereinafter described; and
<br />
<br />an application pursuant
<br />1975, for the granting
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things required to
<br />be done in connection with said application, and the Planning Commission has recommended
<br />the granting of said use permit.
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia:
<br />
<br /> (a) That the use for which the use permit hereinafter described as sought (1) will
<br />'-not adversely affect the health or safety of persons residing or working in the neighborhood
<br /> of the proposed use, (2) will not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to
<br /> property or improvements to the neighborhood, and (3) will be in accord with the purposes
<br /> of the Zoning Chapter of the City Code.
<br />
<br /> (b) The City of Portsmouth is hereby granting a use permit pursuant to Section 40-
<br />75[b) of the City Code to operate a Child Care Center on property described as follows:
<br />
<br /> Beginning on the west side of Charleston Avenue approximately 180 feet
<br />south of the southwest corner of Jefferson Street and Charleston Avenue;
<br />thence west approximately 100 feet to a rear lot line; thence south approxi-
<br />mately SO feet to a side lot line; thence east approximately 100 feet along
<br />said line to the west right-of-way line of Charleston Avenue; thence north
<br />along said right-of-way approximately 50 feet to the point of origin."
