October 26, 1976 <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes a~d seconded by Mr. Oast, the ordinance was adopted as amended, <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 76-377 The following ordinance approved on first reading at the meeting of September <br />14, 1976, was taken up and read: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $323,149 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR <br />THE BALANCE OF THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR CNURCHLAND PRIMARY AND PRELIMINARY <br />ARCHITECTURAL FEES AND DESIGN COSTS FOR THE PROPOSED REPLACEMENT OF JAMES HURST <br />ELEMENTARY SCHOOL." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Holley, the ordinance was adopted, and by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, HOlley, Oast, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Robert W. Wentz, Jr. entered the Counh~l Chamber at 8:10 p.m. <br />The following reports from the City Manager were presented: <br /> <br /> 76-425 - "Conside=ation of an or <br />Capital Improvements Fund for the con <br />Manor and City Park respectively. <br /> <br /> This appropriation will provide <br />surfaces at Cavalier Manor and replac <br />surface courts. The City Manag~ <br /> <br />rd lowest responsible bid." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and Mr. Elliott, the following ordinance was <br />reading, and by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />approved on first <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $82,762 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION AND REPLACEMENT OF TENNIS COURTS AT CAVALIER MANOR AND CITY PARK." <br /> <br /> M6ti6n of Mr. Oast and seconded by Mr. Elliott, to award contract to Van Sumner, Inc. <br />in the amount of $82,762, being lowest responsible bidder, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 76-426 - "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading <br />General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund in the category of Capital <br />age Improvements. <br /> <br />to appropriate $137,000 from the <br />Improvements - Street and Drain- <br /> <br />r <br /> <br /> This appropriation will <br />merits Program for the construction of street and drainage improvements to Greenwood Drive. <br />This project will include drainage, street improvements, $22,162 worth of work to be done by <br />the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad, as well as additional work to be done by Public Works and <br />Public Utilities. This project was included in the 1976-77 Capilal Improvements Program under <br />drainage and street improvements as one of the priority items due to the additional traffic <br />created by the opening of the Greenwood Drive Interchange. There are $92,000 in Revenue Sharil <br />Funds from Entitlement VI and $45,000 from Entitlement VII. The City Manager recommends adop- <br />tion on first reading." <br /> <br />furnish the necessary Revenue Sharing funds to the Capital Improve- <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $137,000 FROM THE GENERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND <br />IN THE CATEGORY OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS - STREET AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS." <br /> <br /> MRyo~ Davis left the Council Chamber at 8:18 p.m. and Vice Mayor Wentz presided on the <br />following item. <br /> <br /> 76-427 - "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $137,000 from the <br />Capital Improvements fund for the construction of street and drainage improvements to Greenwoo~ <br />Drive. <br /> <br /> This appropriation is a companion ordinance to {he Revenue Sharing ordinance outlined <br />above.
