October 26. 1976 <br /> <br /> 76'404 - The following ordinance, deferred from the Public Hearing meeting of October <br />11, 1976, was taken up and read: <br /> <br />(i) <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 40 OF THE CITY CODE BY' ADDING <br />SECTION 40-67.1 PERTAINING TO EXCAVATION USE PERMITS." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the <br />reading, and by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 76-404 - The following ordinance, delayed at the Public <br />1976, was taken up and read: <br /> <br />ordinance was approved on first <br />Hearing meeting of October il, <br /> <br />(h) <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, SECTION <br />40-51 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO EXISTING PLOTS OF INSUFFFICIENT SIZE; AUTHORIZING <br />THE BUILDING OFFICIAl TO ISSUE BUILDING PERMITS ON CERTAIN CONDITIONS." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Early, the ordinance was approved on first <br />reading, and by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 76-407 The following ordinance, approved on first reading at the regular meeting of <br />October 12, 1976, was taken up and read: <br /> <br /> 'AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $19,685 FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR SALARIES AND <br />BENEFITS FOR TWO POLICE PATROLMEN TO PATROL THE JEFFREY WILSON HOUSING PROJECT." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the ordinance was adopted, and by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 76-410 - The following ordinance, approved on first reading at the regular meeting of <br />October 12, 1976, was taken up and read: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $93,500 FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE FEDERAL <br />OPERATING SUBSIDY TO TIDEWATER TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT COMMISSION IN CONNEC- <br />TION WITH THE TAKE-OVER OF THE ELIZABETH RIVER TUNNEL SERVICE." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the ordinance was adopted, and by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Davis <br />Nays:~ None <br /> <br /> 76-417 The following ordinance, approved on first reading at the regular meeting of <br />October 12, 1976, was taken up and read: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $35,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND TO PAY <br />FOR EXPENSES INCURRED IN SEPARATING THE WATER DISTRIBUTION LINES OF THE OLD <br />CITY OF SUFFOLK FROM THE OLD COUNTY OF NANSEMOND." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Oast and seconded by Mr. Early, the ordinance was adopted, and by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 76-393 - The following ordinance,~:approved on first reading at the regular meeting of <br />October 12, 1976, was taken up and read: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $75,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION AND RENOVATION FOR RECREATION CENTERS IN CAVALIER MANOR AND PORT <br />NORFOLK." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Barnes, to a~end the ordinance~to $100,000 <br />instead of $75,000, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Early, the ordinance was adopted as amended, <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Hotley, Oast, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> Motion of!'M~. :gR~negTBnd seconded by Mr. <br />Corporation in the amount of $236,900, being <br />mou5. <br /> <br />Elliott, to award ,contract to Cardinal Building <br />lowest responsible bidder, was adopted by unani- <br /> <br /> 76-394 - The following ordinance, approved on first reading at the regular meeting of <br />October 12, 1976, was taken up and read: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $75,000 FROM THE GENERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST <br />FUND IN THE CATEGORY OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS - RECREATION." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Holley, to amend the ordinance to $100,000 <br />instead of $75,000, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
