<br />"A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE BID OF ~RVIN GOLDPARB FOR TH~ PURCHASE OF PROPERTY
<br />AT COLUMBIA AND GREEN STREETS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~NAGER TO EXECUTE A
<br /> DEED FOR THE CONVEYANCE THEREOF;
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth declared certain hereinafter described
<br />property as surplus and authorized the City Manager to receive bids for the purchase thereof;
<br />and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Marvin Goldfarb has submitted a bid for the purchase of said property for
<br />the sum of $1,000.00; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said purchase price is considered adequate for the property to be conveyed.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that the bid of Marvin Goldfarb to purchase the hereinafter described property for the sum
<br />of $1,000.00 be, and the same is hereby approved.
<br />
<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute
<br />all deeds or other documents to convey the following described property to Marvin Goldfarb:
<br />
<br /> All that certain lot, ~iece or!parcel of land, with the improvements thereon,
<br />situate, lying and being ~n the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded and des-
<br />cribed as follows:
<br />
<br /> Beginning at the southwest intersection of Green Street and Columbia Street
<br />(formerly Crab Street); thence running South along the western right of way of
<br />~een Street 115 feet, more or less, to the line of the property now or former-
<br />ly owned by John Emmerson; thence~running West and parallel with Columbia Street
<br />~80 feet to a point; thence running North and parallel with Green Street 113
<br />feet to a point on the southern right of way of Columbia Street; thence East
<br />along the southern~right of way of Columbia Street 180 feet to the point of
<br />beginning."

<br />Nays: None
<br />
<br /> 76-460 - "Consideration of a resolution a~gepting the bid of Mr. Freddie R. Bowen, Jr.,
<br />to purchase city-owned property on Greenwood Drive; and, authorizing the City Manager to
<br />execute a deed.
<br />
<br /> This smalt parcel, of property became surplus after the installation of the pumping
<br />station on Greenwood Drive. This parcel is contiguous to the bidders residence and is
<br />currently being used for ingress and egress. The City Manager recommends acceptance of
<br />this bid."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following resolution was
<br />adopted, and by the following vote:
<br />
<br /> "A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF FREDDIE R. BO~N, JR. TO PURCHASE CITYi
<br /> OWNED PROPERTY ON GREENWOOD DRIVE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
<br /> A DEED FOR THE TRANSFER THEREOF.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth authorized the City Manager to advertise
<br />and receive bids for the hereinafter described property located on Greenwood Drive in the
<br />City of Portsmouth; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Freddie R. Bowen, Jr., 3704 Greenwood Drive, Portsmouth, Virginia has presented
<br />the highest bid of Two Hundred Fifty and O0/100 ($250.00) Dollars for the hereinafter describ
<br />property; and
<br /> WHEREAS, said bid of Two t~ndred Fifty and O0/100 ($250.00) Dollars is considered to
<br />be an adequate price for the hereinafter described property.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that the bid of Freddie R. Bowen, Jr. to purchase the hereinafter described property located
<br />on Greenwood Drive, Portsmouth, Virginia for Two Hundred Fifty and OO/1OO ($250.00) Dollars
<br />be hereby accepted.
<br />
<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute
<br />such deeds and other documents as may be necessary to complete the transfer of the following
<br />described property:
<br />
<br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in
<br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded and described as follows:
<br />
<br /> Beginning at a point on the northern margin of Greenwood Drive, said
<br />point being the point at which the line dividing thmproperty now or formerly
<br />owned by Fred Bowen and the property described herein owned by the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, intersects the northern margin of Greenwood Drive; thence
<br />North 7~SO'SO" West along the aforesaid line dividing the property of Bowen and
<br />the property of the City of Portsmouth 7S.O1 feet to a point; thence South 85°
<br />15' East 20.00 feet to a point; thence South 7~SO'SO" East 75.O1 feet to a point
<br />on the northern margin of Greenwood Drive; thence South 89"~9' West 20.00 feet
<br />along the northern margin of Greenwood Drive to the point of beginning."
