<br /> WHEREAS, the Council finds, after due consideration, that the bid of Washington Heights
<br />Properties Corporation complies fully with the terms of the City advertisement and that the
<br />bid is such as to permit favorable use of the property.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BB IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that
<br />the City Manager be, and he hereby is, directed to accept the bid of Washington Heights Pro-
<br />perties Corporation for the hereinafter described property.

<br />situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded and described

<br />of the U.S. Coast Guard Base, The City Manager recommends adoption."

<br /> On motion of Mr. We~tz and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following resolution was adopted,
<br />and by the following vote:
<br />
<br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE A CERTAIN PARCEL OF
<br />PROPERTY ON FIRST STREET OWNED BY GEORGE T. MCLEAN COMPANY, INC.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, George T. McLean Company, Inc. owns certain hereinafter described property
<br />on First Street in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth desires to purchase said property in connection with
<br />the future development of the U. S. Coast Guard Base and the closing of First Street; and
<br />
<br /> WHERE~S, George T. McLean Company, Inc. has offered to sell said proper'ty to the City
<br />of Portsmouth for $6,890.00; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, after due consideration, has determined
<br />that the offer is favorable to the City.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that
<br />the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to purchase the hereinafter described pro-
<br />perty from George T. McLean Company, Inc., for the price of $6,890.00.
