Based on the appraised value of a buildable <br />~ site~in this sub-division, it is recommended that a public auction be held with a minimum bid <br /> being established at $?,000. The City Manager recommends adoption." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Oast, the following resolution was adopted, <br /> and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS AT <br /> PUBLIC AUCTION FOR CERTAIN CITY-OV?NED PROPERTY (4226 BURNHAM DRIVE); ESTAB- <br /> LISHING MINIMUM BID OF $?,000.00. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth presently owns certain property located at 4226 Burnham <br /> Drive in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, more particularly described as follows: <br /> <br /> All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being <br /> in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, known and desfgnated as "Well Site" on <br /> that certain plat entitled, "Edgefield Section ?", recorded in the Clerk's <br /> Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book <br /> 43, page 6?. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said land is no longer needed by the City of Portsmouth and the disposal of <br /> the same has been approved by the City Planning Commission at a meeting held May 4, 1977, <br /> and it is, therefore, declared to be surplus property. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, ~irginia, that <br /> the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to advertise and receive bids at public <br /> auction for the herein above-described property on such terms and subject to a minimum bid <br /> restriction of $?,000.00." <br /> <br /> Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> ??-282 - "Consideration of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to advertise and <br />receive bids for certain City-owned property (Des Moines Avenue Fire Station). <br /> <br /> The City has been~!~unable to complete the transfer of this property since it was originall] <br />advert¢~sd for bid. The City Manager recommends <br />adoption." <br /> <br /> On motionoof Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Early, the following resolutio5 was adopted, <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISB AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR <br /> CERTAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTY (DES MOINBS FIRE STATION). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth presently owns a certain parcel of property located on <br />Des Moines Avenue, more particularly described as follows: <br /> <br /> All those certain lots, pieces or parcels of land, with the buildings and <br /> improvements thereon, situate lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br /> known, numbered and designated as Lots 26, 2? and 28 in Block 25 on the plat of <br /> property of Prentis Park Corporation, recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit <br /> Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book ?, Page 93, bounded and <br /> described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point on the eastern right of way of Des Moines Avenue, said point <br /> being 84.2 feet north of the northeastern intersection of Des Moines AvenUe and <br /> Lincoln Street; thence continuing north along the eastern right of way of Des Moines <br /> Avenue 75 feet to a point; thence easterly'and parallel with Lincoln Street 100 feet <br /> to a point; thence southerly and parallel With Des Moines Avenue ?5 feet to a point; <br /> thence westerly and parallel with Lincoln Street 1OO feet to the Point of Beginning. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said property is no longer needed by the City of Portsmouth and it is, <br /> therefore, declared to be surplus property. <br /> <br />on <br /> <br /> <br />
