<br />"A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING THE FOLLOWING STREETS: PARCEL I,
<br />A PORTION OF HARRISON STREET, PARCEL II, A PORTION OF WYTHE STREET, PARCEL III,
<br />A PORTION OF FOURTH STREET, PARCEL IV, A PORTION OF KIRN AVENUE, PARCEL V, A
<br />PORTION OF SIXTH STREET, PARCEL VI, A PORTION OF FAYETTE STREET.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to vacate,
<br />close and discontinue Parcels I, II, III, IV, V and VI, the hereinafter described portions
<br />of certain streets, and it appearing that Notice of Application and request for the Appoint-
<br />ment of Viewers was duly posted July 8, 1977 on the bulletin board of the City Hall Building
<br />of the City of Portsmouth, the bulletin board of the General District Court, Civil Division,
<br />of the City of Portsmouth and the bulletin board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmout]
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that
<br />Frank N. Bilisoly, Harrison Miller, A. N. Kendrick, Linon Vann, and C. E. Ellis be appointed
<br />viewers and Louis J. Leitner be appointed an alternate viewer in the event one of the pre-
<br />ceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter described portions
<br />of such streets and to report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and
<br />if any, what inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the following:

<br />PARCEL I - HARRISON STREET
<br />
<br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land situate in the City of Portsmouth~
<br />Virginia, comprising that portion of Harrison Street as shov~ on a plat entitled,
<br />"Plat ShowingClosure Of A Portion Of Harrison Street, Portsmouth, Virginia For
<br />Southside II Project, CD ??", dated June 2, 1977, prepared by Hassell ~ Folios,

<br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth,
<br />~/~¥imginia,and comprising that portion of Wythe Street as shown on a plat entitled,
<br /> "Plat Showing Closures of Portions of Fourth and Wythe Streets, Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br /> For Southside II Project CD 77", dated June 2, 1977, prepared by Hassell & Folkes,
<br /> Surveyors & Engineers, Portsmouth, Virginia, a copy of Said plat is attached hereto.

<br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being in the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, and comprising that portion of Fourth Street as shown on
<br />a plat entitled, "Plat Showing Closures of Portions of Fourth and Wythe Streets,
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, for Southside II Project CD 77", dated June 2, 1977, pre-
<br />pared by Hassell & Folkes, Surveyors & Engineers, Portsmouth, Virginia, copy of

<br /> Kirn Avenue - All that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being in
<br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia and comprising that portion of Kirn Avenue

<br />PARCEL V - SIXTH STREET
<br />
<br /> Sixth Street - All that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being in
<br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and comprising that portion of Sixth Street lying
<br />between Edwards Street and Jefferson Street. (S-77-23).

<br />PARCEL VI FAYBTTE STREET
<br />
<br /> Fayette Street -All that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being
<br /> in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and comprising that portion of Fayette Street
<br /> lying between Seventh Street and Sixth Street. (S-77-22)"
<br />
<br /> Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, W~ntz, Davis
<br /> Nays: None
<br />
<br /> 77-286 - "Consideration of a resolution appointing viewers for the closing of a portion
<br />of the following streets: Pinners Avenue, Carolina Avenue, First Street, West Norfolk Road
<br />and King Street.
<br />
<br /> The City of Portsmouth has made application to vacate a portion of the stated streets.
<br />Pursuant tO State law notice has been duly posted following a public hearing before the
<br />Planning Commission. The appointment of viewers is requi~ed by State law. The City Manager
<br />recommends adoption."
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Oast and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the following resolution was adopted,
<br />an~?by the following vote:
<br /> "A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING THE FOLLOWING STREETS: PARCEL I,
<br /> A PORTION OF PINNERS AVENUE, PARCEL II, A PORTION OF CAROLINA AVENUE, PARCEL
<br /> III, A PORTION OF FIRST STREET., PARCEL IV, A PORTION OF WEST NORFOLK ROAD,
<br /> AND PARCEL V, A PORTION OF KING STREET.
