<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $10,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR
<br />SURVEY AND ENGINEERING COSTS IN TRUXTON."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the ordinance was adopted, and by
<br />the following vote:

<br />A SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT."

<br />The following reports from the City Manager were presented:
<br />
<br /> 77-S18 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $139,000 from
<br />the Capital Improvements Fund for replacement of sanitary sewers on Columbus Avenue, modifi-
<br />cation to the sewage pumping station on Carney Farm Lane, and construction of a Public
<br />Utilities access road off Route 13 in Suffolk.
<br />
<br /> This appropriation will provide the necessary funds to replace approximately 880' of
<br />sanitary sewers on Columbus Avenue, which collapsed due to deterioration during the last
<br />month. The cost or'this project is $25,000. Funds will also be provided for the constructioz
<br />of an access road for public utilities off Route 13 in Suffolk, at a cost of $54,000. The
<br />balance of this appropriation, $60,0.00, will be used for modification to the sewage pumping
<br />station on Carney Farm Lane. The total appropriation will be funded from Public Utility Bond
<br />proceeds; and, all three projects were allocated in the 1977-78 Capital Improvements Work
<br />Program. The City Manager recommends adoption on first reading."

<br /> "Consideration of a motion to award lowest responsible bids for the sewage pumping
<br />station and access road."
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the following ordinance was approved
<br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote:
<br />
<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $139,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR

<br />cal Specialist Co., being lowest responsible bid, in the amount of $48,291 for pumping statio~
<br />W~teh. Pile Driving Corporation, being lowest responsible bid, in the amount of $35,400 for
<br />access road, and was adopted by unanimous vote.
<br />
<br /> 77-319 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $50,000 in the
<br />Capital Improvements FUnd for surveying and engineering on maintenance dredging at various
<br />locations in the City.
<br />
<br /> The Capital Improvements Work Program for 1977-78 allocates $50,000 to perform the sur-
<br />veying and engineering for maintenance dredging within the City. This appropriation will
<br />permit us to move forward with the engineering in order to develop specifications for the re-
<br />quired maintenance in order to open up many of the ~4r~inage outfalls that have become in-
<br />effective due to an accumulation of silt. This total appropriation is to be funded with
<br />Revenue Sharing funds. The City Manager recommends adoption on first reading."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the following ordinance was approved
<br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote:

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $50,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR
<br />SURVEY AND ENGINEERING COST ON MAINTENANCE DREDGING AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS
<br />WITHIN THE CITY."

<br /> 77-320 "Consideration of an ordinance on firs~ reading
<br />the Capital Improvements Fund for the construction of parking
<br />ration Project.

<br />to appropriate $210,000 from
<br />lots in the Olde Towne Conser-
<br />
<br /> This appropriation will provide the necessary funds to construct the remaining parking
<br />lots required as the City's commitment under the Olde Towne Conservation Project. This pro-
<br />ject was scheduled and previously approved for the 1976-77 work program. However, delay in
<br />acquisition of the property prevented us from advertising this project until now. The total
<br />cost of the project is $250,000 of which $40,000 has already been appropriated, $120,000 of
<br />this appropriation will be funded through G.O. bond proceeds and $90,000 from the unappro-
<br />priated balance in the Capital Improvements Fund. The City Manager recommends adoption on
<br />first reading."
