<br /> 77-373 - On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following resolution
<br />approved on first reading at the Public Hearing meeting of October 10, 1977, was adopted, and
<br />by the following vote:
<br />
<br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PEP~IT TO OPERATE A SEWAGE PUMPING STATION ON
<br />CERTAIN PROPERTY SITUATE IN OR NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF AVONDALE ROAD AND
<br />BUNCHE BOULEVARD.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth by Director of Public Utilities, John A. Howell,
<br />Jr., has made application pursuant to Section 40-7S(b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth,
<br />Virginia, 1973, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter described; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things required to be
<br />done in connection with the application, and the Planning Commission has recommended the
<br />granting of said use permit.
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia:
<br />
<br />(a)
<br />
<br />That the use for which the use permit hereinafter described is sought;
<br />
<br /> (1) Will not adversely affect the health or safety of persons
<br /> residing or working in the neighborhood of the proposed use;
<br />
<br />(2) Will not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious
<br /> to property or improvements in the neighborhood; and
<br />
<br /> (3) Will be in accord with the purposes of the Zoning Chapter of the City
<br /> Code.
<br />
<br /> (b) The Council~of the City of Portsmouth is hereby granting a use permit pursuant
<br />to Section 40-75(b) of the City Code to operate a sewage pumping station on the property
<br />described as follows:
<br />
<br /> Beginning at the northeast corner of the intersection of
<br />Avondale Road and Bunche Boulevard; thence north along the east
<br />right-of-way line of Bunche Boulevard, 130.O3 feet; thence east
<br />6S.09 feet; thence south 130 feet to the north right-of-way line
<br />of Avondale Road; thence west along said right-of-way 67.85 feet
<br />to the east right-of-way line of Bunche Boulevard, the Point of
<br />Origin."

<br />Nays: None
<br />
<br /> 77-373 - The following ordinance approved on first reading!at,the Public Hearing meeting
<br />held on October 10, 1977, was taken up a~d read:

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973,
<br />BY AMENDING SECTION 40-45 THEREOF; BY ADDING AN ADDITIONAL OFF-STREET AUTO-
<br />MOBILE PARKING REQUIREMENT OF OPEN SPACE LAND USES."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the ordinance was adopted, and by
<br />the following vote:

<br />Nays: None

<br /> 77-373 The following ordinance approved on first reading at the Public Hearing meeting
<br />held on October .10, 1977, was taken up and read:

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973,
<br />BY AMENDING SECTION 40-139 (a5) THEREOF; PERTAINING TO SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO
<br />OFF-STREET AUTOMOBILE PARKING REQUIREMENTS IN THE WATERFRONT W-1 DISTRICT."
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the ordinance was adopted, and by
<br />the following vote:
<br />
<br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz
<br />Nays: None
<br />
<br /> 77-373 The following ordinance approved on first reading at the Public Hearing meeting

<br />PARKING IN COF~vIERCIAL C-3 DISTRICT DIMENSIONAL REQUIILE~ENTS."
