The City Manager ~ecommends <br />adoption." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following resolution was <br />adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE OF <br />THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH AS THOSE PERSONS AUTHORIZED TO HAVE ACCESS TO THE <br />CITY'S SAFETY DEPOSIT BOXES. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager <br />and the Director of Finance of the City of Portsmouth are those persons authorized to have <br />access to the City of Portsmouth's safety deposit boxes." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Oast, DAvis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 78-5S - "Consideration of a resolution appointing viewers for the closing of a portion <br />of Industrial Avenue and Brighton Street. <br /> <br /> The City has made application to close a portion of the above named streets. Pursuant <br />to State Code this resolution will appoiRt viewers to make a report back to City Council. <br />The City Manager recommends adoption." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following resolution was adopte <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING THE FOLLOWING sTREETS: PARCEL I <br />A PORTION OF INDUSTRIAL AVENUE, PARCEL II - A PORTION OF BRIGHTON STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has made application to vacate, close and discontinue <br />Parcel I and II, the hereinafter described portions of certain streets, and it appearing <br />that Notice of Application and request for the Appointment of Viewers was duly posted JanuaryI <br />18, 1978 on the bulletin board of the City Hall Building of the City of Portsmouth, the <br />bulletin board of the GenerZl District Court, Civil Division, of the City of Portsmouth <br />and the bulletin board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> <br />
