The State Department of Taxation has established our 1978 ratio
at 93% and has indicated that the adjusted tax rate on the unequalized protion would be
derived by multiplying the real property tax rate by an unequalized amount of 55% in lieu
of 40%. ~Since our ordinance specifies 100% and 40%, this amendment will correct the tax
rate applied to conform to the policy of the State Department of Taxation. The current
ordinance applied to the 1977-78 tax year. This amendment will set forth the tax rate
for the 1978-99 tax year for public service corporations.
