<br />of an unnamed alley from Woodstock Street to Montc!air Avenue.

<br /> Riley W. and Clementine McGlone have made application to close the above unnamed alley.
<br />The City Planning Commission has reviewed the application and recommends the appointment
<br />of viewers in accordance with State law. This resolution authorizes the appointment of
<br />viewers. The City Manager recommends adoption."
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following resolution was
<br />adopted, and by the following vote:
<br />
<br />"A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR:CLOSING THE FOLLOWING: A PORTION OF
<br />UNNAMED ALLEY.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Riley W. And Ctementine McGlone have made application to vacate, close and
<br />discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of a certain alley, and it appearing that
<br />Notice of Application and request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted May 17,
<br />1978, on the bulletin board of the General District Court, Civil Division, of the City
<br />of Portsmouth, the bulletin board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, and the
<br />bulletin board of the City Hall of the City of Portsmouth.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that Frank N. Bilisoly, John H. Griffin, Charles R. Hudgins, R. Irvine Smith, A. N. Kendrick
<br />be appointed viewers and Richard D. Ottavio be appointed an alternate viewer in the event
<br />one of the preceding viewers fail to participate, said viewers to view the herein-after
<br />described portion of such alley and to report to this Council in writing whether in their
<br />opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the following
<br />
<br />UNNAMED ALLEY
<br />
<br /> All that ten (10) foot alley extending from the east right-of-way line of
<br />Woodstock Street to the west right-of-way line of Montclair Avenue; said alley runs
<br />parallel to and lies approximately 144 feet south of Portsmouth Boulevard."

<br /> The Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to close a
<br />portion of the above named street. The City Planning Commissionhas reviewed the application
<br />and recommends ~he appointment of viewers in accordance with State law. This resolution
<br />authorizes the-appeimtmen-t_of viewers. The City,.Manager recommends adoption."

<br />Portion of Douglas Avenue To Be Closed, Portsmouth, Virginia, for Mt. Hermon Conser-
<br />vation ~ Redevelopment Project, VA. R-69", prepared by E.. Stuart Ball ~ Associates,
<br />Ltd., Surveying~Engineering, Portsmouth, Virginia, dated April 18, 1978, a copy of
<br />which is attached hereto.,,
