ORDINANCE NO. 2026-60 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM <br />GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $402,769.37 FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE <br />FY 2026 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & <br />RECREATION. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it accepts a Child and Adult Care Food Program grant in the amount <br />of $402,769.37 from the Virginia Department of Education and appropriates said funds in <br />the FY 2026 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Parks & <br />Recreation to reimburse expenditures for the Child and Adult Care Food Program. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2026 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $402,769.37. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on June 9, 2026. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
