ORDINANCE NO. 2026-61 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A STORMWATER LOCAL ASSISTANCE FUND <br />GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $933,652 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT <br />OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN <br />THE STORMWATER CATEGORY OF THE FY 2026 CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR WATER QUALITY PROJECTS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />I. That it accepts a Stormwater Local Assistance Fund grant in the amount of <br />$933,652 from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and appropriates said <br />funds in the Stormwater Category of the FY 2026 Capital Improvement Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Engineering Department to fund <br />water quality projects. <br />3. That a 50% local match is required as a condition of the funding, which <br />match has previously been appropriated to the VPDES Permit Compliance line in the <br />Stormwater Category of the FY 2026 Capital Improvement Fund. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the Stormwater Category of <br />the FY 2026 Capital Improvement Fund Budget are increased by $933,652. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on June 9, 2026. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
