<br />MAKERSPACE – A collaborative incubator workspace for making, learning, and exploring
<br />in a variety of artistic, digital, industrial, or light industrial activities such as machining,
<br />plasma cutting, sandblasting, ventilated painting, forging, casting, ceramics, textile
<br />production, cut and sew operations, and various other industrial processes. Such a
<br />workspace may include a variety of low-tech and high-tech tools and equipment including,
<br />but not limited to, 3D printers, laser cutters, computer numerical control (CNC) machines,
<br />soldering irons, blacksmith equipment, and woodworking machinery. Makerspaces may
<br />also include office, retain sales, video, sound, music, film, digital, gallery, art, and other
<br />related studio and production activities. Makerspaces can incorporate training and
<br />educational activities, including training related to vehicle repair, event space, and may also
<br />include live -work spaces. A Makerspace may also occupy indoor and outdoor areas on the
<br />same property.
<br />MANUFACTURING, LIGHT—An establishment that assembles, processes, improves,
<br />treats, compounds, or packages goods or materials intended for use or consumption by the
<br />general public conducted wholly within an enclosed building and does not create a
<br />noticeable amount of noise, dust, odor, smoke, glare or vibration outside of the building in
<br />which the activity takes place. Finished or semi -finished products may be temporarily stored
<br />outdoors in an enclosed storage yard pending shipment. Examples of uses include a cabinet
<br />and woodworking shop; assembly of pre -fabricated parts, food, or beverages; manufacture
<br />and assembly of medical equipment; metalworking shop; sculptor studios; and similar uses
<br />in accordance with the standards in Sec. 40.2-217(H).
<br />5. Section 40.2-217 (Use -Specific Standards) is amended by adding a new subsection
<br />(G)(3)(a) (Commissary kitchens) and moving existing subsection (G)(3)(a) (Restaurants) to
<br />(G)(3)(b) as follows.

<br />Parking of food service vehicles (such as food trucks) utilized by food service
