ORDINANCE NO. 2026-95 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A VIRGINIA HOMELESS SOLUTIONS <br />PROGRAM GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2027 GRANTS FUND FOR USE <br />BY THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it accepts a Virginia Homeless Solutions Program grant in the amount <br />of $5,000 from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development; <br />appropriates said amount in the FY 2027 Grants Fund Budget. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Social Services <br />for eligible uses under the Virginia Homeless Solutions Program. <br />3. That a local in-kind match in the amount of 25% is required as a condition <br />of the funding, which match has previously been provided for through the FY 2027 Social <br />Services Fund Budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2027 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $5,000. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 8, 2026. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
