ORDINANCE NO. 2025-1 s <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL IV -E FOSTER CARE FUNDING <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />SOCIAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2025 <br />SOCIAL SERVICES FUND FOR USE BY DSS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />I. That it hereby accepts additional IV -E Foster Care funding in the amount <br />of $50,000 from the Virginia Department of Social Services and appropriates said <br />amount in the FY 2025 Social Services Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by Department of Social Services to provide <br />eligible foster care costs. <br />3. That, to the extent not expended, the funds shall be deemed reappropriated <br />into the Social Services Fund budget annually until expended in their entirety. <br />4. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Social Services <br />Fund are increased by $50,000. <br />3. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on February 25, 2025. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
